US and Israel Launch Preemptive Attacks on Iran

Based on polling and reports from mid-2025 to March 2026, public sentiment in Israel regarding military action against Iran shows a sharp divide along ethnic lines, with high support among Jewish Israelis and overwhelming opposition among Arab Israelis. While many Israelis have expressed a sense of pride, hope, and increased national unity following strikes on Iran, there is also widespread fear, concern about the conflict's escalation, and distrust of the government's long-term strategy.

Key Aspects of Public Sentiment (Mid-2025 – Early 2026):
  • High Support Among Jewish Israelis: A majority of Jewish Israelis have supported military action against Iran, with 83% backing such operations, even in scenarios without immediate U.S. support. Many view this as a necessary, long-term step to remove an "existential threat".
  • Opposition Among Arab Israelis: In contrast, the majority of Arab Israelis opposed the strikes, with 73%–86% favoring diplomatic resolutions over military action.
  • Mixed Emotions (Fear and Pride): While many Jewish Israelis expressed feelings of "pride" and "hope" (28% pride, 24% hope), a significant portion also reported feeling "fear" (35%). Conversely, 69% of Arab Israelis reported feeling fear, alongside 25% reporting despair.
  • Uncertainty and Lack of Trust: Despite supporting the actions of the security services (IDF, Mossad, Air Force), a large portion of the public (roughly 70%) has expressed concern about how the campaign will unfold and nearly half believe the government lacks a clear exit strategy.
  • Shift in Priorities: Support for a deal to end the war in Gaza in exchange for the return of hostages increased following the escalation with Iran.

  • Regime Change Sentiment: Some Israelis have expressed hopes for the overthrow of the Iranian regime, with public,, in some cases, dancing in shelters.
  • Concern Over Escalation: Despite the support for action, there is significant awareness of the risk of a regional war, with many in Israel "on edge" and accustomed to new, tighter security protocols.
  • Impact on Daily Life: The ongoing conflict has caused disruption, with millions of Israelis taking shelter during retaliatory attacks.
People say a lot of things.

"From the Nile to the Euphrates" being one of them.

The facts don't seem to support your contention.
False.

Self reporting polls accurately measure support, not specific reasons why. This is well known.

The words out of Bibi's own mouth support my contention.

The Jewsih support for him supports my contention.

That contention being that this isn't just about survival or ab existential threat, the the extremists running Israel.

He is a maniac and needs to go.

Sorry, no questions. Gonna have to think harder. Good luck.

US Central Command released footage of strikes on Iranian military equipment and facilities. The strikes on Iran involved American Tomahawk cruise missiles, aircraft, ballistic missiles, and various types of bombs and drones. The video shows US military strikes on Iranian Su-22 aircraft, possibly decommissioned, and Shahed drones. It was also reported that US and Israeli strikes eliminated Iran's top military command.

Unbelievable military precision. I was able to freeze frame some of the video to catch just the right frame to show our missiles hitting Iranian jets the instant before impact.

These puppies are within inches of being balls-on their targets.

Great. I agree. Now which nations condemned Iran for their retaliatory strikes?

So in your mind, the average Israeli doesn't pay any attention to death threats by Iran or Hamas?

Right now, I am concerned for American democracy:
As you should be.

The fat orange rapist charity thief already led a criminal conspiracy to steal an election.

And if he will ignite the middle east simply to distract from being mentioned in the Epstein files... we definitely need to be working on guarding our elections from him. Right now.

It most certainly is getting me somewhere. It's getting me to your gaping incongruity. You don't believe morals are absolute. So you can't make any moral judgements at all because not everyone agrees on what is moral and what isn't. Israelis believe they are acting morally and Iran and Hamas are acting immorally. Iran and Hamas believe they are acting morally and Israel and the US are acting immorally. Why do you believe you get to be the arbiter of what is and what is not moral? You don't believe morals are absolute.

You know this how?
Israeli Jews have never hidden their belief in their own supremacy:

"Since the founding of the state of Israel, the government also has systematically discriminated against and violated the rights of Palestinians inside the state’s pre-1967 borders, including by refusing to allow Palestinians access to the millions of dunams of land (1000 dunams equals 100 hectares, about 250 acres or 1 square kilometer) that were confiscated from them.

"In one region—the Negev—these policies make it virtually impossible for tens of thousands of Palestinians to live lawfully in the communities they have lived in for decades.

"In addition, Israeli authorities refuse to permit the more than 700,000 Palestinians who fled or were expelled in 1948, and their descendants, to return to Israel or the OPT, and impose blanket restrictions on legal residency, which block many Palestinian spouses and families from living together in Israel."

I don't see how this proves Israelis believe they are morally superior. If you want to argue Israel believes it is technologically and militarily superior to her neighbors, then I would agree because they are. They don't do what they do because they are racists who think they are better. They do what they do because of their survival instinct. It's Darwinian.
