I guess we can’t really call them “shrimp” anymore.

Indonesia shrimp showing trace amounts of cesium 137. Walmart issues recall. Claims the shrimp are below unsafe levels but don't eat and discard.......LoL

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration asked Walmart to pull three lots of Great Value brand frozen shrimp from stores after federal officials detected Cesium-137, a radioactive isotope, in shipping containers and a sample of breaded shrimp imported from Indonesia.

Thought Marco got fired.

.cesium 137 is not naturally occurring and is a byproduct of nuclear fission. But...Indonesia doesnt have any nuclear reactor. So, how does it become contaminated with a radioactive isotope?

It's like having a city of millions of people and two democrats were detected. So you have to throw everyone out of the city because of the low level contamination.

Indonesia has three nuclear research reactors according to Hal.

Cesium-137 is a radioactive isotope produced from nuclear fission, commonly found in the environment due to nuclear tests and accidents. It has a half-life of about 30 years and can pose health risks, particularly an increased risk of cancer with long-term exposure. Wikipedia PBS

But they are not near the seafood ports and all are inland. Odd how the shrimp are being irradiated..

Hard to say, maybe look into how the ocean currents go there for trying to back track to an area or nation.

FDA expands warning of radioactive shrimp as two more brands recalled

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced on Sunday that AquaStar (USA) Corp of Seattle has recalled approximately 85,000 bags of shrimp products sold at major grocery chains nationwide due to potential contamination with cesium-137, a radioactive isotope.

The recall affects Kroger-brand raw and cooked shrimp products as well as AquaStar raw shrimp skewers distributed across 31 states between June 2025 and September 2025.
