A police investigation over a couple of kids standing on a flag and posting it on Facebook (which is not illegal)? Has everyone lost their fucking minds?

In context, the police statement looks much more like they were saying "Please stop calling us about this" rather than "We're going to arrest those kids".

Here's the statement:

“The Richland Township Police Department has become aware of a disrespectful picture being passed along through Facebook. We have been in contact with the Richland School District and will work with them in resolving this issue. Thank you to everyone who took time to notify us of this situation.”

I agree that what the kids did is not illegal, but that doesn't mean that you don't have the freedom to remind them about how they scored the freedom to do such a thing in the first place.
