Universal Healthcare question for everyone

We'll that's my question for Dems. Do you really want Trump in charge of your health care?
It would be Congress. Which is interesting since Congress is full of nitwits with a 26% approval rating in the aggregate

The point is, it would be government. Has anyone noticed the kind of people we've been electing to lead our government? Do we really want them controlling something as important as health care???

Funny how Obama care is not the resounding success that the democrat cult claimed it would be.

Everything touched by the Govt becomes worse. Everything! We need to privatize the USPS.

It forced healthy people to pay for sick people but didn’t take away the inefficiencies with the administrative state in the healthcare industry. Also counting on your employer is dumb. Should be like car insurance. Free market

No. they do not. They get the coverage through OPM. Obamacare is for those without employer-based insurance. Once again, you are either confused or lying.
Yes, congress does. SHOP plans are obamacare.

House of Representatives and Senate offices will provide health coverage to Members of Congress and designated staff through the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP). SHOPs were established to administer group health benefits to employees of small businesses. Given the location of Congress in Washington DC, OPM has determined that the DC SHOP, known as the DC Health Link Small Business Market administered by the DC Health Benefit Exchange Authority, is the appropriate SHOP from which Members of Congress and designated congressional staff will purchase health insurance in order to receive a government contribution. For more information, please visit OPM's webpage for Members of Congress.

No, members of Congress and their staff do not get their health insurance through OPM. Instead, they must purchase health insurance through the Small Business Health Options Program (SHOP). The DC Health Link (DCHL) Small Business Market is the specific SHOP that members of Congress and their staff can use.

The Affordable Care Act requires that members of Congress and their staff obtain health insurance through the SHOP or through an Affordable Insurance Exchange.

Members of Congress and their staff who are no longer eligible for an FEHB plan will still receive a government contribution toward the cost of their health insurance premiums.

Health insurance it's the problem, not the solution.

This is what they don’t get. Everyone gets crappy healthcare from crappy MDs and after long wait lines

Admissions first, after head nurse triage, responsibility it to validate insurance

Keep in mind here, not all insurance policies are equal

Ergo they dictate referrals constituting quality of care, and yes we 'wait' , as well as get the runaround here every bit as much as UHC countries

Those w/out insurance can not be denied treatment @ ER's (JACHO yet again) , which is why we've had an epidemic of them closing down in lieu of 'walk in clinics' that can kick you the 'eff out despite any ailment you may have

Also counting on your employer is dumb. Should be like car insurance. Free market
They (Congress) were told so iirc in the early 60's , and so we've yet again another biz killing policy Az

Let’s say he gets paid $4mil per year. Now comes UH. How much does that doctor make now? How does UH reward our best doctors?

That isn't the problem. I even doubt that many even make anywhere close to 4 million.

Quickest number I found was that the average wage in 2022 was $225,000.
Drs tend to make way less than that.

College isn’t free? My bad
School education is free, if you leave without doing A Levels I think at 16, college is free for 2 years till aged 18 or 19. Then you can pay for as many courses as you want to do. There's no age restriction on a college course

If you go to university, in England Wales, you pay -

Tuition fees for the 2025/2026 academic year in England are as follows:
  • Full-time: £9,535 per year
  • Part-time: £7,145 per year
  • Accelerated: £11,440 per year
These fees are the first increase since 2017, and are in line with inflation.

I think Scotland is mainly free, to about £1,800, and some you have to pay for like Law. The Scottish government pays it. Different kettle of fish if they went independent, that'll be a wake up call for them.

A little while back, the government had to include and show outstanding student loans as national debt.
