Does anyone know what colour the United States Passport in 1962-1963 was? Was it green? Like this shade of green?

They were green until 1961, when they changed to blue...

There is an auction this of various items, one is a James M. Cain Passport, they say it is 1962-1963 and it is green. Now usual situation is that Passports are issued for 10 years then need to be renewed. So eg. if this Passport was issued between 1952-1960 it would still be the green one until 1962-1970 and then the renewed one would be blue.

Yes or no? Being a collector of things and also I love James M. Cain - he wrote "The Postman Always Rings Twice" and "Double Indemnity" - I need varying myself IF the passport is authentic.

If it says the passport is from 1962 or 1963, they're wrong. The United States had green passports until 1961...

It's probably more likely that they simply got the date wrong as opposed to it being a fake passport.

Having the latter is a felony, whether it's a valid passport or not...
