Unintended consequences-

They are pricey but even genuine Toyota is $1300. After market can be bought for appx $400.

So...$2600 for the converters (most Tundras have two), plus labor, plus the thief may well have damaged the headpipes, midpipes, or both enough to require replacement. Yeah, I can see $8K at a dealer.

Does Texas not have a law against buying and selling used catalytic converters? Most states do.
Since when has a law stopped a thief on a border town?
If you live in San Diego, El Paso, or any other border town....the thieves steal in the US and then sell them in Mexico.

Pssst... electric cars have none

Psssst, nobody gives a shit.

Of course lots of people do.

Oh I think you'll find that America's give a shit factor about electric cars is quite small.

Which is larger than no one.

Nearly 7 million have been sold.

How many electric cars are on the road in the United States?

That's not all that many when you consider there were 276 million vehicles registered in the US in 2019. Even if only half of those 276 million vehicles were cars, electric cars would only account for 5%.

It's far more than "no one". It's also a growing segment.

Nope, it isn't. Your argument is that because 2 people might be watching NCAAW Bball game we need to keep it going because tomorrow 3 might waqtch.

And murder- theft is illegal, period, unless of course, one is an elected thief-

Houston is quite a ways from the Mexico border-
And your point is what?
You never heard of smugglers that use boats?
Never mind the fact that when you flood a state with illegals it tends to cause alot of crime everywhere in the state....not just along the border.
