Actual unemployment claims actually went up a tiny bit last week. Here are the numbers.
The advance number of actual initial claims under state programs, unadjusted, totaled 513,347 in the week ending July 10, an increase of 44,855 from the previous week.

This is close to the new norm and is essentially normal. Obama is doing a great job.
