Ukraine to Biden: Americans safer in Kiev than LA.

Currently, last stats I saw, St. Louis is the most dangerous city in the U.S. The chart I looked at, per capita, there were only about a dozen and a half or so cities in central and South America that were more dangerous than St. Louis.

LOL, the truth hurts.

Right now, the Tourist Trade for Kiev is very low. In order to increase that for economic reasons they have to say this. Ukraine needs the tourist trade to stay solvent. Take this with a grain of salt.

Is there anyone in particular(mayor etc.) or group(mafia, drug lords, antifa etc.) of people to point a finger at for the high crime rate in St. Louis??? There must(?) be a common denominator between St. Louis & the other super high crime rate cities in our USA, but WHAT could that common denominator be?

The common denominator, is folks trusting, and cooperating with their local leaders, and local leaders, being responsive to their constituents.

The police chief in Detroit actually encouraged gun ownership, exercising free-speech, and protests when necessary etc. . . . .

Thus, crime and rioting went down compared to Baltimore, Chicago, D.C., L.A., etc.

James Craig: The Man Who Could Defeat Gretchen Whitmer

His actions spared Detroit from lawlessness last summer.

". . . And Craig retains close relationships to prominent Democrats in Detroit, including Mayor Michael Duggan, who appointed Craig deputy mayor in 2016. Additionally, State Rep. Tenisha Yancy, the Democratic chair of the Detroit caucus, recently told Fox 2 Detroit that she has a “great relationship” with Craig, adding that she has a better relationship with Craig than with Whitmer.

“I know that I can pick up the phone right now and call the chief and he is going to answer,” Yancy said. . . .

<snip>

. . . During his eight-year stint as chief of police in Detroit, Craig was tough on crime and did not adopt any progressive efforts to transform policing. Instead, he has rebuked progressive policies implemented by other police departments, such as the Chicago Police Department’s announcement that police will not pursue criminals who have committed Class A misdemeanors or lesser offenses.

Craig bolstered his national reputation through his response to the Black Lives Matter protests in the summer of 2020. Craig was one of the few police chiefs of a major city who took a strong stance against rioting, violence, and looting. As a result, Detroit was spared from much of the lawlessness that gripped American cities last summer. . . . "

Now they are, but after the Russians invade, that will change.

Probably not. The Russians aren't interested in Kyiv. They are interested in the provinces that have Russian Majorities.

The problem here is that when the USSR Broke up, it did not break up based on demographics, but by the artificial boundries of drawn by the Kremlin, which means a lot of Russians got stuck in the Ukraine, Kazakhstan, etc. And a lot of non-Russians were left inside Russia because they didn't have their own SSR's.

So why is any of this our problem?

The USSR was never more than Russian conquered territory. The name "Union of soviet socialist republics" is pure propaganda. Their tactic was simple - Russians invaded installed a puppet government and sent Russians to live in the conquered territories.

The fact is that Putin simply wants to rebuild the Russian empire and claiming to do so on behalf of "stranded" Russians is as good an excuse as any.

4 of the top 5 most dangerous cities in the world are in Mexico, and Dimocrats of course are doing their best to bring it here.

Not quite. All of the Republics of the USSR were within the boundries of the former Tsarist Empire.

The Union was to give the nationalities a certain level of autonomy... but the reality is, the USSR went the way of all empires... Eventually, the people running the Empire realize they really don't get a benefit from it.

So you term the USSR a Tsarist empire and not a Russian empire. And yet the Tsar was Russian and the country he ruled was Russia and of course the conquered territories were under Russian rule and ultimately became part of the USSR.

Russia went on to continue the process of "Tsarist" conquest and installing puppet government with the Warsaw Pact countries. The Warsaw Pact countries weren't liberated they were occupied. Russia is a serial "Tsarist", that has only one modus operendi - occupy a country and install a puppet government.

Putin is on record saying he wants to restore the Russian/Tsarist/ USSR empire.

Okay, let's look at that. Five of the Warsaw pact countries - Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovakia, and of course, East Germany, were all part of the Axis. They don't really get a lot of sympathy for being occupied after the war.

Secondly unlike the Tsar, who wanted to expand Russia for Russians, the Soviets believed everyone would be happier if they were communists... Until Tito and Mao started having different interpretations of Communism than they did.

You said: "the Soviets believed everyone would be happier if they were communists". The fck they did. What comic book did you take that statement from - pure garbage.

Misery was the only thing people shared under Russian rule.

Old Joe Stalin killed them by the millions if they challenged Russian rule or if they were even suspected of being unhappy with Russian rule.
