no the plant does not need the electricity, the external turbines that cool the water to the plant need electricity, its like saying the plant needs electricity to run because that's what powers the light bulbs inside the plant so they can see.

Wind Turbines need constant electricity to operate, especially when the wind is not blowing.

All nuclear reactors have diesel generator backups. Electricity is not a problem. If anything, the Ukraine is proving Nuclear Reactors can survive war..
