The principle that Khrushchev violated was that of local autonomy.
The people of the Crimea did NOT want to become part of the Ukraine.
It did not matter much in 1992 when the government of the Ukraine was neutral, but was very significant when the US fascists took over in 2014.

The Louisiana Purchase has MONEY involved and no natural inhabitants.
It was a wilderness.
No similarity at all to the Crimea.

If we even had something remotely close to a democracy, we would not have a the highest % imprisoned in the world, a War on Drugs, federal gun laws, no public health care, illegal foreign wars, over half our buget on the military, an illegal 2 party system, etc.
