U.S. Tennis Apologizes For Featuring Nazi-Era Anthem

Another example of how fake news and progressive propaganda have people duped, including the German tennis players themselves. Most Germans are conditioned into being ashamed about being German because of WWII. What they don't realize is their left-wing propaganda is doing the same thing the media was doing in the 1920's and 30's.
a trumptard pontificating about what germans should do, know, and realize. nigga please.

Considering I live in Germany, yes I can "pontificate".

OMG, how disgusting.

U.S. Tennis Apologizes For Featuring Nazi-Era Anthem Before Germany's Match | The Huffington Post

The United States Tennis Association apologized on Saturday for introducing a Fed Cup match with a portion of Germany’s national anthem that was once used as Nazi propaganda.

Fans and players appeared visibly upset as an opera singer belted out the controversial, outdated first verse in German: “Germany, Germany, above all, above all in the world.” People attending the event in Hawaii were seen attempting to sing over the performer.

Poor snowflakes. Now Germany isn't allowed a national anthem?
you are a monumental dumbass.

Are you denying that the lyrics pre-date the Nazis by decades?
germany is allowed to have a national anthem. germany is even allowed to select the words to be sung to its anthem. german tennis players can expect enough professionality even from US Americans to pay attention and be a non-retarded host. that includes playing and singing the correct anthem.

your question is irrelevant, dumbass.

I agree they should had played the modern anthem, but for them to get so butt hurt over it and claim it's the "Nazi anthem" is ridiculous.

it is forever tainted. furthermore, the first verse is pure nationalism, and not patriotism. good riddance.

You should read the article, especially before insulting people.

A. OKAY so we all agree that the MODERN officially recognized anthem should have been played.

B. Where we don't seem to agree is
* is this older anthem ESTABLISHED as associated negatively with Hitler's nationalism, and thus TRADITIONALLY rejected for that reason
* and if so, shouldn't the host have KNOWN this would be PERCEIVED in that negative light? And thus known better than to play it?

Even if we agree that A is the solution,
is it necessary and helpful to blame the host for the controversy caused in B.
Should they have known better than to play an anthem that would create this negative perception and reaction.
Was this already known and thus could and should have been avoided?

Considering a simple Google search for the German national anthem brings up the older version, without any reference to Nazis, it's understandable they could make such a mistake.
