U.S. at Fault in Strike on School in Iran, Preliminary Inquiry Says

BS. That based close years ago.

You excuse a war crime.
BS yourself.
You think it's possible to have 100% knowledge of everything inside a closed nation ?
You think every bit of ordnance fired goes exactly where intended ?

You excuse the hundreds of war crimes committed by Iran, cry a river over ONE done by the USA.

Not surprising to see one of the mods bury the thread in the Iran forum.

trump lied again. Imagine my surprise.

An ongoing military investigation has determined that the United States is responsible for a deadly Tomahawk missile strike on an Iranian elementary school, according to U.S. officials and others familiar with the preliminary findings.

The Feb. 28 strike on the Shajarah Tayyebeh elementary school building was the result of a targeting mistake by the U.S. military, which was conducting strikes on an adjacent Iranian base of which the school building was formerly a part, the preliminary investigation found. Officers at U.S. Central Command created the target coordinates for the strike using outdated data provided by the Defense Intelligence Agency, people briefed on the investigation said.

Officials emphasized that the findings are preliminary and that there are important unanswered questions about why the outdated information had not been double checked.

He said, before the investigation was complete, that it was Iran's fault. Then he said if it turns out to be our fault he can live with that. As any sociopath would.

Remember, this regime and especially its leader never admits fault. Just as Roy Cohn told Don not to do.
.

Left cult lies, as usual.

Means nothing until someone willing to speak publicly says it.

Hitting civilians by accident isn't a war crime.

Meanwhile you guys give Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran a pass when they intentionally attack civilians. (In Iran's case its own civilians)
Technically your corrupt SCOTUS ruled that nothing a President orders can be considered a crime so this argument is pointless

You got a reference for that?

Article 51(5)(b) of the 1977 Additional Protocol I

5. Among others, the following types of attacks are to be considered as indiscriminate:

(a) an attack by bombardment by any methods or means which treats as a single military objective a number of clearly separated and distinct military objectives located in a city, town, village or other area containing a similar concentration of civilians or civilian objects; and
(b) an attack which may be expected to cause incidental loss of civilian life, injury to civilians, damage to civilian objects, or a combination thereof, which would be excessive in relation to the concrete and direct military advantage anticipated.

Doesn't apply. they weren't expecting a school to be nearby.

Plus, it was never ratified by the US Senate, so it doesn't apply to us anyway in general.

They weren't expecting a school to be nearby? See, that is not going to cut it. The school is clearly marked, do we not have satellite images? Yes, it was next to a military base, but the school had been walled off from that base for more than nine years.

And yes, the Senate did not ratify the treaty, the discussed provision a big reason why. Proportionality is not an argument the US wants to be making here.

.

Who placed that school so close to such an obvious target?

The same people who use children as human shields all the time.

Accidents happen.
They are calling it a "targeting error". The missiles hit the target, the school was a target, Tomahawks are pretty accurate. The claim is the "accident" was the targeting of the school.

I got to tell you, that is some really bad Intel. Have you seen satellite images of the compound before the strike? I have. Even a minimal amount of "due diligence" would determine it was a school. My belief is that the US was operating on a target list generated by Israeli intelligence, and I think the school was listed there on purpose.

especially since it's not really about Iran or a school or school girls...its about white liberal faux compassion and having a pre-text to hide behind...'con man from Ga.' ran this same scam about a girl who set herself on fire and, like you, then went on and on about his all consuming obsession...'all things trump'

Yes, that happens.

A good point if you can prove it.

What is your evidence of that so far?

When, in the history of the USA, have our military used children as a target for murder?

That's what your cult does.

I have no evidence, just attempting to logically determine the most likely explanation. And Israel has demonstrated they are calling the shots, the attacks on Iranian oil infrastructure was reportedly met with a "WTF" response from the White House.
