U.N. rights investigator accuses Israel of 'ethnic cleansing'

aris2chat, Phoenall, pbel, et al,

Richard Falk is an 83 year old man, that has been an established anti-"this and that" for many decades now. Professor Falk falls into a special group of people, with the likes of Noam Chomsky, George Steiner, and Michael Neuman; all of whom have impeccable credentials, all of whom speak both eloquently and passionately, and all of whom could not be less anti-Israeli if they had been devoted understudies of Sheik Izz ad-din al-Qassam (father of the Palestinian Black Hand). Much like Noam Chomsky, George Steiner, and Michael Neuman, Professor Falk is not a true and unbiased authority on the subject of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, but rather --- an unwavering activist for the pro-Palestinian Movement.

It is important that you understand Professor Falk's position and address them directly, rather than to challenge his personality and mental condition; the very same as you would the commentaries of Noam Chomsky, George Steiner, and Michael Neuman.

In the case of professor Falk, no one is going to jump up and use his material as authoritative research. Both sides know he needs help and sympathy.

Just My Thought,
R

I knew him back in Beirut. He was not unbias even then. He wrote a report for the Kahan commission. I wrote a report for the Al-Quwwāt al-Musallaḥa al-Lubnāniyya and the UN.

Me too. I think we are very lucky to have posters like Aris who has had experience in the Middle East and for posters like Rocco who have really don't their homework on the subject of the Israel/Palestine conflict.

Wont work on here anymore as everyone has seen your decline into stupidity and abuse because you have been beaten in open debate. You have also been shown to be pro terrorism and racist towards the Jews and Israel. When pulled on your disgusting POV you resort to petty immature schoolboy insults and false claims about other peoples mental health.

Another massive fail for you as now everyone is laughing at your ineptitude

It is you that is thick-headed as the link is just above this post if you bother to look

Its simple, link the blue highlighted area, I could NOT find it in the link you provided.

Richard A. Falk - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Phoenall quote on his earlier post:Rabid anti semitic Jew hater as declared by the UN secretary General, so who is better placed than his boss to know what he is like.Last sentence of the first paragraph
Just as I thought, the sentence reads:
5] and has been variously criticized by U.S. ambassador Susan Rice and Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon for his outspoken positions on Israel and the September 11 attacks.

Now where does it say what you posted that the Secretary called him a Jew Hater?

You lie again.

Looking at his join date, And judging by his hatred for Israel, I have a feeling our Irish friend from Seattle is back ...again.

No hatred, just facts. Most participants in this forum are "conditioned" (to avoid using the word brainwashed) Americans, who from their first days in school have been told that Israelis and Jews are good and Arabs (Christians and Muslims) are bad. So, posting facts that throw a different light on Israel, is considered hatred of Israel. If someone posted the fact that Australia is committing human rights violations against people heading for Australia caught at sea, would that be considered hatred of Australia?

And, with a name like montelatici, I am certainly not Irish.

montelatici, et al,

Last week [in GENEVA (21 March 2014)], Richard Falk, one of the United Nations Special Rapporteurs, made the allegation that the prolonged Israeli occupation of occupied Palestinian
territory (oPt) exhibits the unacceptable characteristics of
  • colonialism,
  • apartheid, and
  • ethnic cleansing.
This set of allegations reveals nothing new in the pro-Palestinian position taken since the oPt began.
  • It doesn't explain how Israel benefits from the practice of occupation or explain the policy in which Israel develops trade for its own benefit.
  • It doesn't define the difference between "apartheid" and border control. Or, what makes Israeli border control a form of "apartheid" and the border control measures by the Regional States "not apartheid."
  • It doesn't give any details on the violent elimination or removal of Palestinian people from a country or area because of their ethnic backgrounds, by means of genocide or forced expulsion. It doesn't explore the relationship between the Hostile Arab Palestinian and the need for extraordinary security countermeasures that separate the belligerents.
In short, a discussion of the issues and their implications has not been attempted. A majority of the people, either for or against Richard Falk, just repeat the allegation without understanding the implications or the causal effects which brought the ground conditions about.

Richard Falk doesn't really bring anything new to the table except his name (a false appeal to authority). He actually doesn't lend strength to the Palestinian position, but merely repeats the work that others have done on the argument, or the standard Palestinian policy position (colonialism, apartheid, and ethnic cleansing) that is very often deductively invalid or that has very little inductive strength.

As for me, and the allegation that "anyone that disagrees with you, in your mind, needs help and sympathy," is --- of course --- your opinion. I'm certainly glad someone, other than myself, can read my mind.

There is no question that European Jews colonized Palestine, any disagreement with that statement would be moronic. Apartheid, or the forced separate development of non-Jews is well-established as fact among scholars outside of the U.S. and Israel. And, ethnic cleansing of non-Jews can't be denied given the UN's creation of refugee camps for Muslims and Christians displaced by Jewish attacks on their villages and towns.

Oh, racist minds are easy to read.

Racist?? Please tell me who is Rocco being racist against and in what part of his post do you see racism

Obviously he is racist against Palestinians. He is just like the external supporters of white-ruled South Africa. They propagated disinformation to deligetimize the non-white's aspirations. They claimed that the whites were there (in south aftrica) before the non-whites, that the non-whites were terrorists, that they were communists (to get western support), that the non-whites were citizens of the Bantustans etc., etc.

montelatici, et al,

Well, let's examine this.

There is no question that European Jews colonized Palestine, any disagreement with that statement would be moronic.

Apartheid, or the forced separate development of non-Jews is well-established as fact among scholars outside of the U.S. and Israel.

(COMMENT)
  • The Jews were immigrants and not colonialists.
  • There is no "FORCED" "separate development" in Israel between Jewish Citizens and non-Jewish Citizens. Any separation is a result of voluntary cultural differences. Just as there is a difference between the ethnic cultural upbringing in most nations. In the Middle East, forced separation between the cultures is fairly obvious in all the Arab/Islamic countries. If anything, Israel is much more integrated and actually fosters assimilation.
  • Nearly all wars have a refugee component. There are many reasons for the refugee columns that formed after the 1948 war which resulted in the Jordanian occupation and annexation of the West Bank, and the Egyptian occupation of Gaza. This condition merely carried-on after the Israeli occupation 20 years later.

It must be remembered that the occupied Palestinian territories (oPt) had the opportunity to establish a peaceful existence every day. They chose otherwise.

Oh, racist minds are easy to read.
There is no question that Arabs from neighboring Arab states invaded Israel in the early and late 20th century and began to call themselves Palestinians and proceeded to do what they have infamously done all over the Middle East, ethnic cleansing and genocide.
