How anyone can defend the police officer’s action is beyond me.

None of us have any idea what caused the stop or how the suspect reacted to orders before the officer with the camera on got there. What I seen was the officer with the camera approaching the vehicle while another officer was already trying to pull him out of the car. What happened up to that point is anybody's guess for now.

Seems the officers supervisors don't even know why he was stopped.

The officers were basically fighting their own efforts. Whine he was on the ground in a position where he could have easily been controlled and cuffed, they continued to struggle as if he was overpowering them. They were fighting against each other.

Whine one can recognize that Nichols’ actions caused him to become a subject, one can also recognize that these officers escalated it to a place which was completely avoidable.

This is one of those scenarios which will be shown in department training programs across the country as what not to do.

Initially while complaining, he was trying to do what the officers were telling him to do. There were too many officer putting their hands on him and they were countering each other’s efforts.

I completely understand why he tried to run when had the chance. The officers were pretty much out of control at that point.

I could not tell if there was a supervisor on the scene who’s responsibility it is to keep the situation under control.

If there were other officers were there observing this and did nothing to intervene, they could be charged as well.

- Let’s suppose you’re out at a night club. A 20-something-year-old 145-pound guy starts acting belligerent. Bouncers kick him out of the club. Do the bouncers need to beat the guy to death in order to get him under control? Ridiculous. Why do we have lower expectations for “highly trained” police officers? Police need to be better than this.

Bouncers at a bar don't have to handcuff the guy. Their only job is to get him out of the bar.

Nothing wrong with questioning authority as long as you don't do it in the street. After the arrest or whatever, if you feel your rights were violated or an officer went beyond his authority, you take that up with his superiors, the Mayor of the city, a state rep if it was state police, even the media or your lawyer. But you don't fight the cops in the street.

If he didn't fight back why was he not in handcuffs when they tried to get his hands behind his back? If he was not fighting back the first officer wouldn't have had to pull him out of the car.

He was not. The guy was scared and he was pleading with the officers. They were preventing him from doing exactly what they were ordering him to do. The officers basically got in each other’s way. Their improper actions caused this to escalate to a place which was completely avoidable.

They would scream at him to do something while other officers were preventing him from doing it
Two officers would have a better chance of putting on handcuffs than five

How were these guys trained?
