We call that "remaining silent"...you might have heard of it.A few years ago the police to my house to question my then 17 year old son because an empty house in our subdivision had been broken into and a party was thrown. So they went to all the high schoolers in the subdivision and tried to scare them into ratting on people, without even knowing if any of them were there.
First they tried to tell me they had the right to talk to him alone, and then one of the stupid ***** told me "If he were my son I would want him to do the right thing"....I told him I did not need him to tell me how to parent and they could all get the **** off my property, they tried to not leave but I sent my son inside and told them we were done.
Never heard from the again.
If I were you, I would have just left my son with them and said "good luck".
That's decidedly not trying to fight your way out of a ticket...in fact that is the opposite.
I've said a million times to never talk to the police...you're not going to ever talk your way out if an arrest, only into a jail cell.
I don't know how many times I've posted this...
Again...no Marine advocates for arguing with the police or resisting arrest. Had I been called onto the XO carpet for arguing with the MPs or civilian police, the criminal charges would be the LEAST of my worries.
I think you're a liar. I called you a liar about being an independent, and you've now shed that facade.
If you'll lie about that, you'd lie about this.
I'll say it again...no Marine advocates fighting with the police...and certainly no retired Marine would do so.
