When you enter the poll, the clerk asks for your name, then your address, then your party affiliation, then they make you sign your name and this has to match your registration....in States where ID is not required and that is good enough.

NO ONE is sanely going to go in to your personal local voting poll place and go up to the clerk and LIE, or even know the answers to your address and party affiliation or risk the chance of running in to you at the Local Poll or the Polling clerk happens to be the Mother of the person's identity you are trying to steal.... this is all highly unlikely and just simply does not occur.

Those States that require ID can accept your your SSAN card and your electric bill, or your voters registration card, and your Water bill, or your Employer ID with your name, and your Natural gas bill....this proves who you are and that you are the person who HAS ALREADY BEEN VETTED and REGISTERED ALREADY to vote by your State...

NO ONE, no Mickey Mouses or Donald Ducks should make it through the VETTING PROCESS of your State, before your State sends you a Voter's Registration card.

I'm watching/listening to Washington Journal on CSPAN this morning and the dishonesty is maddening. Democrats who call in are calling for mandatory voting, but are against a photo ID card requirement to vote. Just how in the hell do they intend to verify whether you vote or not? They don't say. They also won't admit that it would favor the Democrats.
Truth is, mandatory voting would result in a permanent Democrat rule and bring us closer to a real Civil War or a totalitarian government that rules by force. How? It's both simple and obvious to anyone with two brain cells. Mandatory voting would result in the 'deadwood' being counted for Democrat votes, they're not going to vote for a Party that calls for personal responsibility, honesty, and self support. They're not going to vote for a Party that calls for them to get off their lazy asses and go to work.

I would be okay with mandatory voting only for taxpayers. Anyone receiving more from the Government than they pay in taxes would not be allowed to vote. That would slow down the Democrats practice of buying votes with handouts to the 'deadwood' of our society.

With the electronic world that we live in, States can EASILY vet the citizens registering to vote....to pretend that there is no way for them to do this without having to have the citizen purchase a birth certificate, miss work and weekly money that they need to take a bus 5 miles to get to some government location, is utterly ridiculous....

People who do not have a gvt issued photo id are for the most part, people who do not drive and own a car, or do not have the access to any car, or are senior citizens who no longer drive. It is not as easy as you may think to get this gvt photo id....they don't have access to a car, or family members with a car and they use buses, or trains or walk to their work....it is harder for them to get to these gvt DMV's to get these id's, hours missed of work, money that they really can use....and time off of work that they may not even get permission to take...it's more than just paying for a birth certificate....NOT that any of that truly matters....the POINT IS that a government issued photo id to be shown at the polls DOES NOTHING AT ALL TO STOP ANY KIND OF VOTER FRAUD THAT HAS TAKEN PLACE in any kind of numbers.

There are many systems set up for employers to check and see if their workers are legal or illegal...these same systems can be used at the time of issuance by the States.

It is not as easy as you may think to get this gvt photo id....they don't have access to a car, or family members with a car and they use buses, or trains or walk to their work....it is harder for them to get to these gvt DMV's to get these id's, hours missed of work, money that they really can use....and time off of work that they may not even get permission to take...it's more than just paying for a birth certificate....NOT that any of that truly matters....the POINT IS that a government issued photo id to be shown at the polls DOES NOTHING AT ALL TO STOP ANY KIND OF VOTER FRAUD THAT HAS TAKEN PLACE in any kind of numbers.

The vetting of voters, must take place when the State is deciding to accept a voter registration application and issue the voter registration card, if accepted.

There are many systems set up for employers to check and see if their workers are legal or illegal...these same systems can be used at the time of issuance by the States.
This is THEIR JOB.

This mandatory gvt issued ID shown at the Polls, has no purpose, NONE ZIP NADA ZILCH other than to give government more power and for them to become the Gestapo of the USA, demanding all of us to carry papers in order to live here.... and i'm sorry, but I will NEVER, EVER agree to that....

If the State has decided to accept a registration application and print (issue) a voter registration card, the voter's photo can be included on the card.

I wish it were a true Duh moment and it was that easy but unless you are getting a new drivers licence, most people apply for their voters registration via registration drives out on the streets, in malls, in school campuses, at churches, or at their home by a volunteer knocking.....

Can you tell me what voter fraud at the voting precinct you think you can stop at the poll by making citizens that were already vetted and approved by the State by having a govt photo I'd?

There is no PURPOSE for this govt I'd with photo at the polls..... you all Just Want to Force people that don't need or want, a government issued photo I'd to get one JUST FOR THE HECK OF IT...IT DOES NOT STOP ANY KIND OF VOTER FRAUD AT THE POLLING BOOTH.....

There are plenty of ids that are not forced govt issued photo ids that can be used to simply identify yourself as the person registered to vote at the polling place. States have accepted these means of identification for decades with virtually no identity voter fraud taking place....Got THAT?

Overreach?

Since when is having to prove you are who you say you are overreach?

Have these citizens needed a Government Issued Photo ID for their lively hoods in their Country before? The answer is NO THEY HAVE NOT, so this is CLEARLY an over reach.

When you enter the poll, the clerk asks for your name, then your address, then your party affiliation, then they make you sign your name and this has to match your registration....in States where ID is not required and that is good enough.

NO ONE is sanely going to go in to your personal local voting poll place and go up to the clerk and LIE, or even know the answers to your address and party affiliation or risk the chance of running in to you at the Local Poll or the Polling clerk happens to be the Mother of the person's identity you are trying to steal.... this is all highly unlikely and just simply does not occur.

Those States that require ID can accept your your SSAN card and your electric bill, or your voters registration card, and your Water bill, or your Employer ID with your name, and your Natural gas bill....this proves who you are and that you are the person who HAS ALREADY BEEN VETTED and REGISTERED ALREADY to vote by your State...

NO ONE, no Mickey Mouses or Donald Ducks should make it through the VETTING PROCESS of your State, before your State sends you a Voter's Registration card.

The vetting process takes place under the Registration process, after you apply but before they issue you a voter's registration card.

Dead people need to be removed from the Voter rolls by the State when they die, and kept up to date so that no dead people are available to use the absentee ballot system for voter fraud.

So just how many people in this country have never had an ID?

Most people have ID. But thousands don't have the kind of ID required by the various voter suppression laws that GOP legislators have enacted. They need to get that ID. It's often an impediment to voting. How many ways must I say that before you stop pretending not to hear it?

Here's the fact that you keep conveniently forgetting. You can't vote if you are not registered to vote. The act of registering to vote is an indication that you are a person who wants to be a voter. If you are legally registered, it means that you are eligible to vote.

When will you admit that these laws are designed to suppress the vote? If you do, you can turn the corner on this issue and start discussing it with some honesty.

So how do you prove you are legally eligible to vote?

The same way you prove who you are and where you were born.
