Income inequality was already bad and while it did not improve, if Obama had not taken the steps he did it would have been worse and then there
Always with the excuses. Obama could have done a ton of things differently. He could have helped bail out the homeowners as opposed to the banks that forclosed on them.
No excuses. H.A.M.P.

When the Obama administration announced a massive effort to help distressed homeowners in 2009, it set high expectations. The program, government officials said, would keep up to 4 million borrowers out of foreclosure.

“It will give millions of families resigned to financial ruin a chance to rebuild,” Obama said at a event announcing the effort. “By bringing down the foreclosure rate, it will help shore up housing prices for everyone.”

Six years later, Obama is preparing to leave office, and the Home Affordable Modification Program, or HAMP, accepted its final applications Friday having helped a fraction of the homeowners government officials initially expected. About 1.6 million borrowers have seen their mortgage payments lowered through the program so far, but about a third of those people eventually fell behind on their payments again.

“The president set out an ambitious goal that wasn’t met,” said Kevin Stein, deputy director of the California Reinvestment Coalition, a housing advocacy group. “It was definitely a step forward and step in the right direction, but ... a lot of people ended up falling through the cracks.”

HAMP is one of the last remnants of the $700-billion taxpayer bailout effort, known as the Troubled Asset Relief Program, or TARP, put in place during the financial crisis. About $28 billion of that money was carved out to help distressed homeowners by paying banks to lower their interest rates and monthly payments.

It was launched in the midst of one of the deepest housing crises in U.S. history. Millions of people had taken out subprime loans that they could no longer afford, sending foreclosure rates to record levels.

The Obama administration set out to save more homeowners from foreclosure, but the effort has been bedeviled by complaints that banks repeatedly lost homeowners’ paperwork or incorrectly told them they didn’t qualify for help. The Treasury Department didn’t act quickly enough to force banks to abide by the rules of the program, housing advocates have said. Nearly 70% of the homeowners who applied for the program were rejected, according to government data.

A 2014 government report examined the record of four large mortgage servicers and found that black and Latino borrowers were denied entry into the program at a “significantly higher” rate. “Borrowers in substantially minority areas had at least 3% higher denial rates than their comparison populations of borrowers in nonsubstantially minority areas,” according to the Government Accountability Office. “Statistical differences in outcomes among population groups might suggest potential fair lending concerns that merit further examination.”

Right, a scam program that boosted the 1%.
Supply side economics is the scam of decades
Wow, Tucker Carlson’s take on this was amazing. Will post video when it’s up.

The female was shot through the jaw, and was helping the other officer. All while several animals in the area were streaming them and laughing at them.

Do black people think this makes them look good?
Do whites think it makes them look good to defend police shooting an unarmed man 7 times in the back then trying to lie about him going for a gun?
Keep disobeying cops after breaking the law. You defend a rapist and a guy that was fighting with cops, and had a knife. Fuck him, they should had kept shooting until he was dead. Low IQ thugs like that are a danger to society, they have no place here. So move to Africa and live your life free of “racism”. But of course you won’t, because you’re a coward who loves white culture and knows it’s far superior to any African culture. So keep whining like a petulant little child, you all sound like pathetic bitches.
So blacks get stopped four or five times as many as whites
Or we could do something about the record inequality and upward mobility and hopelessness in the United States.... Crime is caused by poverty period if there were that many poor whites they would be the same. The average black family has 1/10 the wealth of the average white family and no they are not criminals more than whites. Amazingly. But their criminals are busy. Selling drugs to whites.. what a great GOP mess we have here.....
OR......you could STOP giving criminals and excuse to kill cops. GFY
How exactly do you "give an excuse" to execute two cops sitting in a police car harming no one?
it's murder and he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law duh. On the other hand if Trump ordered body cameras turned on for every cop or something like that this kind of thing might end. But he only turns on his racist or totally misinformed or both Base and divides the country with pure obstruction and disrespect.
Well, tell blacks to stop committing so many crimes.
Yah, we told them. We also told whites who commit 64% of the crimes and the gop admin personell who committed 114 times the number of crimes as Dems. It did no good.
Talk is cheap. The Gop doesn’t listen.
Over half of murders in our country are perpetuated by blacks, who make up about 12% of the population.

Then of the “white” offenders, Hispanics and Latinos are lumped in with them, but they commit about half of those “white offender” murders.

Poverty produces crime, and the GOP produces poverty. 40 years of GOP giveaway to the rich has given us the worst inequality and upward mobility ever anywhere. Great job! Change the channel for crying out loud.....
Inequality grew under Obama also.
Actually it did not.
Obama admits 95% of income gains gone to top 1%

Obama claims inequality falling even as income inequality soars

But continue to read why. It’s capitalism and . It’s the replacement of skilled labor that pays higher salary, with robotics. Now, dozens of highly skilled technicians do the job of hundreds of skilled manual laborers.
Just go into ANY MANUFACTURING PLANT over the years. These skilled people are now working in a service industry that plays less.
That has played a part BUT that is not even close to the issue overall.

See above.
Nope, .technology is THE DRIVING ISSUE OF HIGH PAYING job loss among non professional labor force. It’s why a high school degree was mandatory in the 1950’s and why a college degree is now. We have a shortage of millions of engineering and stem positions that can’t be filled by an uneducated populous. Oh, there are plenty of unskilled less educated low paying jobs that require multiple jobs to make a living, but as usual, education is the key.
Free Markets beat Command Economies every time.
and always Democratic Fair capitalism with a good safety net beats them both. known as socialism everywhere but brainwashed right-wing English-speaking conservative world.....

We get no response from our older conservative friends who still haven’t woken up this year to be reminded that Medicare will have a 9% cut in many services in the up coming year which comes out to trillions cut in the years to come. This is all so we can have 11 of the the worlds 20 aircraft carriers.

We know that the typical old TrumpHoler just believed Trump when he said he wouldn’t touch Medicare, but he has bigly. MEDICARE IS SOCIALIZED medical care. So let’s hear how they feel about reelecting a government that wants to completely privatizing Medicare while eliminating preexisting conditions which they are presently arguing for in the courts. That means, the older you get, the higher your insurance. Time to consider Canada.

Thank you.

Excellent. Then it is no loss if their monopoly is broken up. If their political influence over elected officials is broken.

Since the rise of the Powerful Teachers Unions in the sixties and seventies there has been a huge jump in public school funding: between 1965 and 1990, average spending per pupil nationwide increased from $2,402 to $5,582 in inflation-adjusted dollars. The average pupil-teacher ratio dropped from 24.1 to 17.3. The percentage of teachers with master's degrees increased from 23.2 to 52.6. The median years of experience for teachers went from 8 to 15. Between 1979 and 1989 average teacher salaries rose 20 percent in real dollars. Salaries for new public school teachers during that period rose 13 percent, compared to a mere 3.5 percent increase for all other college graduates taking entry-level positions. So, from the union members perspective, this has been quite a success.

Unfortunately for America's children, the extra money didn't improve student performance. To the contrary, during that same period average SAT scores for public school students declined by 10 percent, dropout rates in urban school systems increased, and American students scored at or near the bottom in comparisons with the other industrialized nations. There appears to be no strong or systematic relationship between school expenditures and student performance.

The multi hundred billion public education industry behaves precisely like any other publicly protected monopoly. In public education collective bargaining takes place without the constraining discipline of the market. When school board representatives sit down with union officials to negotiate a labor contract, neither party is under pressure to pay attention to worker productivity or the system's overall competitiveness: if the contract allows some teachers to be paid for hardly working at all, and others to perform incompetently without penalty, there is no real economic danger for either side. After all, most of the monopoly's customers, the schoolchildren, have nowhere else to go. Historically, tax revenues have continued to flow into the schools no matter how poorly they perform. Some public schools have performed worse and worse in recent years, even as per-pupil annual expenditure increases well above the U.S. average.

... Of course, you’d know if you ever went to school. .
And you present snotiness rather than well supported points.
It’s really peculiar that republican “ Workers” would literally take the side of corporations....when It comes to working conditions. ALll, you have to do is look at totalitarian governments that don’t allow unions. Unions are the prerogative of FREE nations and free peoples who have the right to organize. You want to do away with worker unions, move to China.

I know how crappy they are because I went to them. Unfortunately for the propagandists in charge, I found the library before they got around to removing all the good books, and was able to educate myself to a large degree.

From the link;
John Taylor Gatto on the "Purpose of Public Schooling
Written by Nathan Martin on 06/20/2019
The public school system is working as intended, and performing it’s functions exactly as it was meant to. Nothing is broken, it is working flawlessly. Based on the results we currently have, this begs the question then, if it is working as intended, then what is the actual purpose of public schooling?
“We must wake up to what our schools really are: laboratories of experimentation on young minds, drill centers for the habits and attitudes that corporate society demands.” ~John Taylor Gatto
“Mandatory education serves children only incidentally; its real purpose is to turn them into servants.” ~John Taylor Gatto
“If we’re going to change what’s rapidly becoming a disaster of ignorance, we need to realize that the institution “schools” very well, but it does not “educate”; that’s inherent in the design of the thing. It’s not the fault of bad teachers or too little money spent. It’s just impossible for education and schooling to be the same thing.”
~John Taylor Gatto
“I want you to consider the frightening possibility that we are spending far too much money on schooling, not too little. I want you to consider that we have too many people employed in interfering with the way children grow up – and that all this money and all these people, all the time we take out of children’s lives and away from their homes and families and neighborhoods and private explorations – gets in the way of education.” -John Taylor Gatto
“By stars, checks, smiles, frowns, prizes, honors, and disgraces, schools condition children to lifelong emotional dependency. It’s like training a dog.” ~John Taylor Gatto
“The lesson of report cards, grades, and tests is that children should not trust themselves or their parents but should instead rely on the evaluation of certified officials.” ~John Taylor Gatto
“Students are taught to work for little favors and ceremonial grades which correlate poorly with their actual ability. By addicting children to outside approval and nonsense rewards, schools make them indifferent to the real power and potential that inheres in self-discovery.” ~John Taylor Gatto
“Endless sequences of so-called “subjects” delivered by men and women who, however well-meaning, have only superficial knowledge of the things whereof they speak, is the introduction most kids get to the liar’s world of institutional life. Ignorant mentors cannot manage larger meanings, only facts. In this way, schools teach the disconnection of everything.” ~John Taylor Gatto
“To know yourself, you have to keep track of your random choices, figure out your patterns, and use this knowledge to dominate your own mind. It’s the only way that free will can grow. If you avoid this, other minds will manipulate and control you lifelong. One method people use to find out who they are becoming, before others do, is to keep a journal, where they log what attracts their attention, along with some commentary. In this way, you get to listen to yourself instead of listening only to others.” ~John Taylor Gatto
~John Taylor Gatto, Legendary teacher, author, speaker, *The World’s Most Courageous Teacher*"

I've been to Compton, it's nothing like the white media portrays it to be. It's a very family oriented place with nice properties and neighborhoods.

For all we know those cops were crooked drug-pushers that crossed the wrong hombres.
You're a lying sack of shit.

Gang borders create invisible walls in Los Angeles

The boundaries that mark gang territory are invisible but are known to people who live in those communities, because going to the wrong gas station or shopping mall could mean life or death.

Compton Gang Boundaries.

This is officer Ryan Hendricks. He was shot and killed this week. His name didn't trend, and no one referred to his killer as "an animal", because the man who murdered him was white.

The phony #bluelivesmatter crowd ignored him. I believe officer Ryan Hendricks life mattered
Go tell MSM to hype i like they do the blacks killed.

Now..how many riots happened because he died........How many stores looted........how many more people shot in protest......

Didn't happen.........rest my case.........340 million people........the media just hypes the ones they want you to see for a narrative and ratings.
That's because white people don't like the police. So you are not going to riot and protest over over deaths from people who you don't like.

The only reason whites tolerate the police is because they kill or harm black people and that's it.
A little criticism. Take your delusional racism and fold it into a square with sharp corners and shove it where you store your brain.
He forgot that it is a black man who shot at the officers...it is easier this way for the BLM.

Well if I should happen to get shot by a rogue asshole cop for merely existing or being armed then I'm make sure that you are the first person my family comes looking for.

Now back to the topic as to why you all are so stupid. The Bill of Right absolutely protects criminals although they are not considered criminals until they are convicted. Who do you think the Sixth Amendment is referring to when it mentions "the accused"?
Why would you 'happen to' be shot by a rogue asshole cop? Are you a felon or something?
Why would I be openly armed if I'm a felon?

They're not entitled to anything other than common courtesy and compliance with their lawfully issued commands.
I would submit that they're not entitled to anything but the compliance.

Not police personally, but the societal rules which we all have a hand in creating and that police are charged with enforcing.

Police (most police that is, I can't possibly speak for the other millions or so) aren't concerned with your courtesy or your respect. They only seek your compliance with their lawful directions.

The place to challenge law isn't on the street in an aggressive confrontation with police. The proper place to challenge law is in court.
A bit of preparation, knowledge of one's rights, a visible recorder (audio and/or video) as well as a hidden recorder goes a long way towards being prepared for having to deal with them in court, if one lives long enough to get there.

I am not anti-cop by any stretch of the imagination but I am avidly anti-asshole, irrespective of their profession. When it comes to asshole cops, yeah, that's always a problem for me.

The ACLU has an app you can download on your phone that you can use to record police encounters that transmits the video footage to their secured servers so that even if the cops take your phone over your objection, deletes the footage that you recorded, then you'll still have a copy as well as proof that they destroyed incriminating evidence.

All that being said, as long as the courts keep giving corrupt police officers a pass for behavior that is clearly a violation of our laws, their agency's policies, procedures or code of ethics (assuming one even exists) we'll continue to have these problems.

Oh and as long as they let officers who refer to black people using the N word claim that they are not racists, none of them have any credibility what so ever.
In a thread about the attempted Assassination of 2 police officers by a Coward..........this punk ass poster tries to explain how to get evidence the Police.

Trying to BLAME SHIFT the narrative to POLICE ARE EVIL.

The scumbag........who did this..........encouraged by assholes like this poster......needs to be blown away......I don't even care if that short thing is a kid.............he shot both in the head at point blank range.

Take your narrative and stick it where the sun doesn't shine.........don't like It.......I really don't care......BLM and Antifa are Terrorists......and encourage this along with a DNC and MSM who have blood on their hands.
Well you just fucked up.

We do not have to comply with unlawful directions
The problem with that approach, many people, most in fact, aren't very knowledgeable about the law. They are apt to believe anything they've seen on a cop show.

That can result in a violent resist.
The police know but they choose to violate rights then shoot when the person resists being violated. So maybe police start acting within the framework of the law.
When are the bad guy's going to start acting within the framework of the law ??? The answer is they won't. So they force the cop's outside of the framework of the law all the time if possible, just like wiggling a worm for a fish until it finally strikes.

Well what a dumb ace fish/cop the criminal/bad fisherman thinks when it bites right ?? Then the bad fisherman/criminal hopes to reel it in and cut's it's head off.

Fighting fire with fire can get ugly, but the game itself is a tough one that's changing all the time. Cop's are having to adapt all the time, and the general public hasn't a clue.

What a volital situation it has all become.
If a person cannot carry out their duties in a professional manner and WITHOUT violating our laws, then they are not fit to be police officers. You cannot excuse their behavior by saying that the behavior of the criminals they're charged with dealing with CAUSES them to have to fight fire with fire. This is what they signed up for. If they're too squeamish and scary to get physical with people who are drunk & disorderly, dealing with mental issues or are just outright violent without unlawfully shooting them, they have no business working in law enforcement.

I can prove that blacks are much more liable to be stopped arrested and imprisoned for the same number of crimes as whites period and killed for that matter.
Blacks statistically commit more crimes.
I would say that you're mistaken but that would be a misrepresentation of the truth because I'm pretty sure you all know this is not true but need to believe that it is. The proof that you're wrong is here

Smartphones have shown that blacks are discriminated against by police officers
More whites are killed by cops.. even THOUGH blacks come in contact with cops more and have highly rate of dangerous weapons charges. This has been debunked 1,000 times. Why you race pimps keep saying false information is not helping.. you have blood on your hands when you continue to lie
We aren't talking about whites getting shot in armed standoffs. And it's funny how per capita isn't used here. Nothing has been debunked.
What don’t you understand? Blacks come in contact with cops more than whites, actions have consequences. I see many violations through the day, driving, noise, visual, and I don’t see it in white community.
Then you're not paying attention. I used to work for a police department in Florida in a predominantly white community. Almost all of the people in the mugshot books and who were arrested and were suspects in crimes their detective was investigating were all white.

Whatyou don’t get is, police are legally entitled to be wrong if they have reasonable suspicion of a criminal act that turns out not to be a crime later
That definitely needs to be corrected, especially when their erroneous assumptions causes harm to someone up to and including the loss of their life ("I thought he had a gun in his hand" - no, it was a wallet)
