'Two dolls instead of 30': Trump acknowledges prices will force consumers to cut back

Yeah, the last thing we need is those silly unions driving up wages!
Unions are good. When they get out of control, not so much. The auto union and the steel union hurt themselves when the post WW 2 boom occurred. The electronics in all ways the same thing. The world retooled and we got a little lazy. Around 1970 the changeover was in gear. The two oil crisis, the rise of Japan and western Europe the decoupling from the last thread to gold under the WW 2 Bretton Woods agreement and we went from a creditor nation to a debtor one. Magnavox, Zenith, Sylvania, Motorola, RCA, General Electric, and the rest all went to the wayside to degree. Japan bought out many of their names. And yet it was the Sony Trinitron just in TV's alone that was the standard. The gold standard.

Unions built the middle class which made the American middle class.

We also went from a creditor nation to a debtor one under Reagan and his supply side failed economic policies.

Do most little girls have 30 dolls? Is that a thing?

The answer is automation. China was becoming far too powerful and its time to knock them down before it’s too late.

If you think it's bad now, let's just wait until we're in some kind of a conflict with China and they stop all goods coming to the US, then all of you idiots would be screaming that enough wasn't done to eliminate our dependance on them, or substitute China for any other country we have large trade deficits with. The simple fact is that it doesn't matter what Trump does, you will be against it, and that makes your opinion on anything he does totally irrelevant.
BS.

It was Trump who signed a brand new trade deal with China.

Jan 15, 2020 — We sign phase one of the historic trade deal between the United States and China. Together, we are righting the wrongs of the past and delivering a future of of economic justice and security for American workers, farmers, and families.

I also want to give special thanks to our U.S. Trade Representative, who’s been kept very busy. He’s doing a lot of deals. We’ll have another big one next week. It should get approved very shortly, and that’ll be tremendous, with Canada and Mexico. But we’ll talk about that next week.

So, just 5 years ago, Trump bragged about his trade deals, NOW they're shit?

The orange moron killed a trade deal, that would give the US, an alternative to buying from China.

Trump ditched the TPP. Now it's going into effect without ...

Dec 29, 2018 — Trump pulled out of a massive trade deal. Now 11 countries are going ahead without the US.

Instead, he’s pursued a series of direct bilateral agreements, launching a trade war with escalating tariffs on $250 billion in Chinese goods to force Beijing to the negotiating table. The strategy has led to a new round of talks between Trump and his counterpart Xi Jinping — but leaves US producers out of broader regional arrangements with other Pacific Rim nations, for now.

Now, Trump and his cult whine about China.

Like drinking a 5th of whiskey, then whine because, you got a hangover the next day.

:dunno: I seriously come here every day for a good laugh to see what all of you TDS idiots are spouting for the day, great comedy.

How is automation the answer.

Perhaps the overriding lessons of the past five years is that they absolutely are not.

Oh they are very good at gaming the system....as is Trump.....as are democrats. Whiny tweets, mean tweets.....all just tweets.

That's always the top priority. Revenge, cruelty, without thought of the consequences.
Its cruel when china steals jobs from American workers and uses the profits to build its military to kill GI’s and US sailors with

Beginning in 2021, the democrat party caused everything to go up in price by 40%, all in the name of squeezing the economy and generating dependency, and now democrats like this OP want to complain about prices potentially increasing as a result of an effort to regain the American economy.
Beyond hypocrisy.

If we are ever in a conflict with China you won't have to worry about them cutting their products off
