Not necessarily. Some of it has yet to be spent and was or is to be halted, and some of the spending has been clawed back.

That said, every penny of spending halted or clawed back should go to paying down the debt.

Let's say they find $1 trillion. The deficit last year was almost $2 trillion. So they're still going to have to increase the debt ceiling. Still going to have to borrow from the fed (with interest).
So sending out any amount of stimulus checks is still going to add to the debt & deficit. Which is fiscally irresponsible for a president who says he's going to fix all this.

He's only slowing down the bleeding, sort of speak. That's not a bad thing. But it's hardly a solution.

Since poor and middle class people spend their disposable income on living, they’ll be taxed far more heavily than the wealthy, who can afford to save and invest their disposable income.

Of course, we’re Trump dumb enough to go for a national sales tax, it will be known as the Trump tax. Which every American will pay.

And since VAT’s are typically around 17 to 18%, it will be a serious burden to people without money.

For instance, a $3.00 gallon of gas would coat $3.51 with the Trump tax.

Key words here. "You save." Save what? Money that isn't going to fraud and waste, right? Saving money isn't the same as finding money that already exists.

And of course saving money is better than wasting it.

But balancing the budget and paying down the national debt is better than only adding a little bit to it. Isn't that supposed to be the point of DOGE, to start with? Are we now supposed to "settle" for only adding a little bit, instead of what's actually necessary?

There's a right way to do all this. Anything other than that is wrong. Even if it's not as wrong, it's still wrong.
it's like trying to drive car with only 3 wheels. 3's better than 2. But why not run 4?
Balancing the budget, making the government efficient isn't impossible. It's very possible. Trump has the senate and the house. And the supreme court. So he has no excuses this time.
