Trump’s Unknown Frontiers

Sorry.

But when your opening statement is frontloaded with priggish presumption regarding your would-be interlocutor, it strongly detracts from any desire I may have had to entertain the rest of your self-absorbed idiocy.

Perhaps address that first, and then I'll be happy to parlay with you.

But do you really care? ;)

That's what I thought.

What is there to address. Hanson is either an idiot, or a confidence man making bank off, well yeah, idiots. I mean 500,000 criminals deported? That number makes no sense. One million new jobs for Americans? Completely fabricated, no bearing on reality. The rant about higher education, he was just telling you what you want to hear. He knows, those foreign students, paying full boat, they are essential to the financial standing of any university.

I mean it reminds me of what happened here in North Carolina with the Republican dominated legislature. The North Carolina School for Match and Science is one of the highest ranking High Schools in the country. Used to be, you graduate from there you got a full ride to any state college. Nope, Republicans axed that. And used to be, many of those students went on to graduate from a state university and, imagine this, they stayed in the state. Not anymore.

You don't think the same thing doesn't apply to foreign students that come here? I mean Elon Musk comes to mind. You think he would be living here under today's conditions? That is just it, many of those foreign students, they choose to stay here. That is quickly changing and that is our loss.

I mean when you get right down to it. This weekend we learn, more people are leaving this country than are coming in. Those on the right, they think that is a good thing. But stop to think about it, do you want to live in a country where people are fighting to get out, or do you want to live in a country where people are fighting to get in? Two things, I often hear from the right about how people are leaving California, how that is a bad thing, reflects on how bad California is. But now, people are leaving the United States, and that is a good thing? Help me out here.

But second, I have said it from the beginning. Countries don't build big, beautiful, walls to keep people out. They build them to keep people in. Looks like that is where we are headed.

You are free to go - I'm sure.

California citizens are leaving for Red States for a better life.

Illegals are returning home - well, because they are illegal

See the diff?

I would challenge your statement about more people leaving the US than coming in.
  • According to the Department of Homeland Security, the number of new immigrants has consistently outpaced the number of U.S. citizens moving abroad.
  • In 2022, estimates suggested that approximately 1 million people immigrated to the U.S., while emigration figures were around 300,000.

I would say that it depends on who's leaving vs who's coming in. It looks like the people coming are maybe not that desirable, but I have seen no numbers either way. What source do you have that suggests otherwise? I'm pretty sure nobody is fighting get out while too many are enduring hardships to get, it can't be east getting to the US border from Central America and many are paying a lot of money to get in. I have not seen much data about those who are leaving, who are they and why are they leaving?

"Countries don't build big, beautiful, walls to keep people out. They build them to keep people in. Looks like that is where we are headed." I would dispute this statement as well. Do you really think Trump wants to build his wall to keep US citizens in? That's really out there, dude. The only countries that I know of who build walls to keep their people in are the poorest and most undemocratic places on Earth.

Excellent editorial today by Victor Davis Hanson.

Honestly, I sometimes find him both pedantic and redundant - but this one is fascinating.

Essentially he's pointing out that nobody knows what happens next - because Trump is so different from any President that came before him.

But we do know that the self-proclaimed "experts" in the media keep getting it wrong - and every day more and more "Normies" are waking up to this fact - inevitably altering the trajectory of our politics forever.

He begins with the issue of immigration, and then extrapolates from there - but it's not too lengthy.

Here's a little taste:

And here is the conclusion:

It's a pretty safe bet for those of us who are rational and can objectively observe how this has all played out over the last decade:

America is heading for greatness we have not witnessed in our lifetimes.

And the Left will be dragged along kicking and screaming into the next American renaissance.

So all workers will be starting out in 6 figures. As it SHOULD be.

Absolutely. Thr golden upcoming years mean wages across the board rise bigly. Not on board?

Wages will rise but not to that degree, that would be inflationary which Trump is dead set against. (Still waiting on that tariff inflation...)

It's your party's nutjobs who want to raise the minimum wage to $40K.

The larger affect will be it is AMERICANS with jobs and higher wages instead of ILLEGALS.

I dont have a party. I didnt vote in the last election.

Raising wages does not cause inflation. Thats a lie.

Higher wages doesnt mean $5 per hour more than when an illegal did the job. It means doubling the wage for the american worker for the same job. And anything under 40 thousand should not be considered any kind of job. For thst, no efgort should be given. Its time to support ametican workers.

"It means".

Wow, you really pulled that one out of your ass.

Any um....DATA to back that up?

Of course not, because you're engaging in hypothetical speculation to stroke your own argument.

I cannot understand your logic. If you raise labor costs then the cost of the product up for the same output. How is that not inflationary?

So then, you promote an american worker having to work for clise to the wages illegals or overseas worked for correct?

Because it's entirely absent.

You folk seem to promote the idea of things made here, but you dont want american workers making plenty more. Why? Why the anti worker sentiment? america first.
