Even before Trump, we were barreling down the wrong road. Inequalities of income, wealth, and opportunity were worsening. Legalized bribery was soaring in the form of mounting campaign contributions from big corporations and the wealthy. Workers were getting shafted. On Wall Street and in C-suites, fealty to the rule of law was giving way to “greed is good” selfishness. Giant corporations were monopolizing ever more of the economy.

America was losing its moral authority in the world (think Abu Ghraib and the torture memo).

We couldn’t have remained on that road. Even if we didn’t know it then, most of us understand that now. Trump has opened our eyes to the consequences of extreme greed, corruption, cruelty, and utter disregard for the Constitution and the rule of law. His brazenness and shamelessness have awakened us to much that we took for granted.

I agree with Mr. Reich. Donald Trump is the poster boy of turmoil, corruption, and broken pomises.

The 2026 midterms will function as a national referendum on Trump's methods of "governance".

Except for his MAGA base, I'm hard pressed to identify a single demographic/issue where Trump is actually gaining momentum.

My thing is this, you have got to be kidding me that the American voter keeps voting in these totally incompetent democrat government officials who right out of their mouths prove without any doubt as to how idiotic they are, how incompetent they are, how despicable they are, how out of touch with the majority they are, and how immoral they are, and yet somehow they can pull off a win as if the voter's were there to give them two more year's or something like that.

Are we living in some kind of twilight zone or something ? The only thing I can figure is that it has to be this way in order that the Bible fulfill itself. No other explanation for it.

I mean we aren't stupid the majority of us, and we can see right through their BS, but somehow they persist and retain. Has any man or women made peace with themselves after allowing an AOC to talk to them like they are kindergarten children or the same with Kaleb Shabib or whatever her name is, and Ilhan Omar to boot, otherwise the so called squad ??? We ought to be ashamed is what we ought to be.
