I like to talk on this forum about some of the highbrow stuff I've read, but I do have one weakness. The Destroyer series by Warren Murphy and Richard Sapir.
Remo Williams, Howard Smith, and Chiun are who I'm talking about.
There have been other authors, but Murphy and Sapir wrote the first, what, 100 books? Something like that.
I discovered the Destroyer series many decades ago, and dropped everything else until had had burned through the first 50 or so.
I also went to the movies to see the Remo Williams flick in the 80s, and just watched it again a couple days so. This has caused me to start the books from scratch. I'm four or five chapters into Created, The Destroyer. I'll probably finish that today or tomorrow. It's only 187 pages. These books are very quick reads.
For the uninformed, the novel series is about a Newark cop who is framed for murder and "executed". He then awakens to find himself a member of CURE, a sooper sekrit organization with only three members, including himself.
Remo is trained in martial arts by a Korean named Chiun who is constantly insulting him while turning Williams into a weapon of mass destruction.
It's a fun series. You might like it.
There must be some fans here. You don't see a series go for over 150 titles without a huge following.
