Trump's last chance stand to save our ballot boxes and why it's so important.

The Save America Act and why it is America’s last chance:

Why was Donald Trump elected? That is a question that needs to be answered. He was an American business billionaire with no prior political experience, yet he was elected president of the United States in 2016. The short answer is that US politics had become so corrupt and inept that the people knew something different had to happen because the country was on a path to destruction that was accelerating. Moreover, there is perceived planned initiative to poison the American electorate with the processed mass infiltration of supplanted illegal voters to overwhelm America’s voting system. This would be done in conjunction with millions of impossible to verify mail-in ballots using the US Postal Service, to deliver unsolicited voting material to unverifiable addresses and drop boxes resulting in huge amounts of duplicitous voting.

Trump immediately pointed to the border issue and began calling for a wall to stop it. It worked in 2016 and Trump was elected. But Trump’s inexperience and naivete saddled him the first time, and insider political backstabbing to protect a compromised and tainted system quickly weakened his influence. Trump is up against a government so thoroughly malfeasant that there may be no way for anyone to fix it at this point. To his credit after surviving two assassination attempts, he is continuing to fight against the destruction of our voting process.

Trump’s opponents know the only way to hold onto power is to destroy America’s voting apparatus to the extent that no one can ever trust it again. The Save America Act would require documentary proof of US citizenship to register to vote as well as require a photo ID to cast a vote including mail-in ballots. It would also require states to verify citizenship status using the Department of Homeland Security System and would take effect immediately. It is a commonsense measure to ensure only US citizens vote, and it closes loopholes in the National Voter Registration Act.

Why is it being fought? Because corruption never goes down easily. It will exploit weaknesses wherever it finds them. The US political system is patently corrupt and is trying to save itself by corrupting our ballot boxes. The opposition knows that this is for power, not what is right.

The upcoming Senate vote may be the most important in US history and the last chance to Save America.
I wish they would have tweaked the bill just a little bit. Democrats have a very small point that some Americans, particularly married women, will have a hard time complying with the law as is. Getting a birth certificate and all the proof to go with it every time your name changes isn't easy. Anyone getting a certified birth certificate isn't easy because older originals often aren't certified and ordering a new certified one could take weeks or months.

My wife, a full blooded white woman, just went through a lot to get a real ID (which in 45 states isn't proof you are a citizen) as she was divorced twice and married three times and had to supply a paper trail of every single name change back and forth. To many, that is just one hell of a lot to go through and can't be done fast. So, say if this passes before the midterms and is in effect for the 2026 midterms, it will be virtually impossible to comply with the new law in time to vote. Everyone would have to re-register and many can't use their original birth certificate as it may not be "certified" and it may be near impossible to have the time to get a certified copy in time to vote this year.

Dementia Donnie knows if HE cannot RIG the November Elections, he facing huge (Bigley HUGE) investigations. The SAVE ACT does NOT have the votes in Senate and as shit won't pass in the House. Thune is simply appeasing 47, Thune knows the bill will not pass.

For all his bluff and bluster over the 2020 Election being rigged, that is exactly what 47 wants to do with 2026 Midterms.
Showing ID to vote is rigging the elections? How?

And yet they do it every time after marriage for bank accounts and everything else. It’s a dumb argument.

This ^^^ in addition to the fact that women do not have to change their names when marrying. If said woman chose to, it should be done immediately upon marriage. As you so astutely stated, they do it for financial issues as well as obtaining a driver's license.

Reminder, Dementia Donnie votes Absentee. SAVE Act stands less than a snowball's chance in hell of passing. States regulated their election NOT the federal government.
You hope. Coz Democrats will lose most national elections from now on if this passes. They know this. That's why they oppose photo voter ID that 84% of the people support

You are grossly incorrect as this only applies to registration. If you are already registered, all you need is an acceptable ID.

That is the biggest pile of manure that I have ever heard. What we have is a system of checks and balances. The advisors that he chose in his first term recognized this. Now the courts are stepping in to enforce the checks and balances despite the interference of the fascist Supreme Court.

Our voting apparatus is already safe. Even MAGA cannot cite any widespread voting fraud. Some states have conducted elections largely by mail for decades. There is no evidence of any fraud.

States have their own methods of verifying legitimate voters and there is no evidence of non-citizens deliberately voting. When people are registered to voter, they take an oath that they are citizens. That means that they can be charged if they lie. Many people would have problems with proving that they are who they say they are. Married female voters could be disenfranchised. People who have moved may have issues. Passports can be revoked on a whim. The DHS system is very unreliable and would prevent legitimate voters from voting.

This is a solution in search of a problem.
Manure? Hmm....Nothing grows without fertilizer. A wonderful crop of common sense awaits you.

Bill has as much of passing as you do being right about it: none.
What happens when Congress critters hit the campaign trail and voters look at who voted for and against the bill? Would you want to elect or reelect someone who allows illegals to vote, in effect canceling your vote?

Remember every House seat is up for reelection in November, and one-third of the Senate. Democrats who voted against cloture in the Senate or against the bill in the House will have to explain why they did it and the facts are not on their side.
