San Diego and Mesa are Republican, Las Vegas are independent.

New York, San Francisco, Detroit, Los Angeles are self inflicted.
None are really self inflicted. It is a complex problem, you have high housing costs for example.

It isnt really a simple question. In the example below, it isnt just Dem areas though majority are.

Another question would be why do the super wealthy select to live those places?
Or what policies effect income inequality?
In a state like WV...there isnt much of a gap because everyone is pretty poor and most of tbe resources are owned by entities outside the state. Is it somehow better to have everyone in poverty or to have income inequality? Neither is good, but I will wager that while you might see greater income inequality in blue states you see greater overall poverty in red states and this is not a new trend.
