Hardly, they died due to genetics which left them more susceptible or bad habits. Without a vaccine nothing can stop the spread. Just look at the new cases where social distancing and mask mandates have been in place for months.

1) Nothing will stop the spread other than herd immunity. EVERYONE will eventually be exposed to COVID19 - it is just how viruses work.
2) In addition to a vaccine are treatments that can help your body rid itself of the effects. Anti-bodie injections are like a shortcut vaccine that skips the injection of a weakened or dead virus and goes straight to giving you the anti-body immunity.
3) The purpose of the lockdowns and wearing masks was to protect the vulnerable and to be worn when around them, and to reduce the maximum hospitalizations so it would not overwhelm the medical system. We are way past that stage now and there does not remain a single reason in SCIENCE to keep these lockdowns going. The Democrats are doing it only to suppress their economics to make Trump's recovery weaker so he won't get any credit for it, but this is not going to work for them. The American people are not as stupid as the average Dimocrat.
