In a Republic, actually
‘It has been a shocker of a week for the president: the Easter weekend F-bomb-laden post, the genocidal promise a few days later to wipe out a “whole civilisation” – only to be supplanted by a ceasefire – so poorly cobbled together – that Donald Trump didn’t even seem to know what it meant.

Having got himself firmly impaled on a hook, he had to find a way to get himself off it.

So when the Pakistani prime minister suggested a two-week ceasefire, Trump leapt at it. There would be two weeks in which the Israeli and US bombing would stop, in return for Iran reopening the vital shipping lane of the Strait of Hormuz.
[…]
What we are seeing is “The Art of the Deal – Iranian style”. Improbable as it may sound, having taken one hell of a military beating, Iran feels as though it is on top.’

And Iran is on top – having taken advantage of Trump’s incompetence and stupidity.

The Strait of Hormuz remains essentially closed, gas prices remain high, and Trump has failed to realize any of the imaginary goals of his unwarranted, failed, illegal war.

Pause Celia ,
Could Deep State be that naive?
Trumpfy is nowhere near as bright as some believe , yet I believe him to be very Savvy and Instinctive .

Could he really have blundered so badly and this early ?

I retain an open mind but actually can see no way he can now "win" other than by sheer might and targeting civilian bombing-- which would never be admitted .
So prove me wrong Trumpfy , or watch America go officially bankrupt and the world sink badly backwards , even for a few years .
Plus Israel will really go under and America's reputation will stink for at least a generation .
Zero Trust and Respect .
imho

Opinion: I Know I Was Wrong The First 1,347 Times, But Now Is The Time To Completely Freak Out About What Trump Said

Yes, it is only going to get worse. I have no confidence in the peace negotiations. We got Vance, Witkoff, and Kushner, might as well be Larry, Curly, and Moe. Like it or not, Lebanon is on the table and we have no control over Israel, not even a desire to have any influence.

Inflation numbers came out this past week, doesn't look good going forward. We haven't even begun to feel the total impact of the closing of the Strait.

/—-/ Oh, like Bidum’s crew of freaks, gnomes and retards were so wonderful.

Trump has made this world a far better place. One would think you'd be embarrassed by your TDS at this point.

What failure? We bombed their nuclear ambitions into dust for the time being. Bombed their navy out of existence. Batshit crazy Muslims only understand violence. Whipping them like dogs is exactly what they needed.

Meanwhile, Irainians prefer to fight.

Putin's Trump's stupid attack on Ukraine Iran was a result of hubris and ignorance by a sick man who has no one around him with the balls to tell him NO.
/---/ Oh, you think you're so clever, Dummy. Putin's attack on Ukraine was to seize land and a warm-water port. Putin didn't do it to end a brutal regime run by fanatics who were trying to build nukes and ICBMs. Ukraine didn't lash out and fire missiles at neighboring countries. Zelinsky didn't slaughter 40,000 protestors in the street.

But when you're grasping at straws, you'll glob onto anything.
