Trump's deportation vow alarms Texas construction industry

Yes they do which is why it isn't going to happen. Just like the Democrats spouting how they will counter ICE, most of the nonsense is simply empty political rhetoric.

If none of Trump’s threats are going to come to pass, why did the world have to listen to the BS in the first place?

Trump’s entire political identity rests on race baiting, white victimhood, and shouted threar like the ones you are dismissing.

I do expect a lot of Trump’s race baiting threat will amount to nothing. There will be no concentration camps or mass deportations.

And the Democrats REWARD the careless spender and punish the responsible saver!

Case in point: For elderly who have lived within their means their entire lives -going on modest vacations, buying a smaller house, etc. - in order to save for their old age, they can afford the outdated assisted living place at $7000 a month.

For those who spent every cent they earned on a big house, fancy vacations, the top level of every car, they now have no or minimal assets and thus qualify for the new subsidized place with a swimming pool, movie theater, and stainless steel in the kitchen.

AND Democrats will defend this by saying “poor people deserve to live nicely too” - ignoring that they are living BETTER than those who saved.

you made all that up.

‘"It would devastate our industry, we wouldn't finish our highways, we wouldn't finish our schools," said Stan Marek, CEO of Marek, a Houston-based commercial and residential construction giant. "Housing would disappear. I think they'd lose half their labor." Talk of a mass round up comes as Texas is booming. Texas cities regularly appear on lists of the country's fastest growing communities, and construction cranes and workers donning safety vests are common sites in most major cities.

That Texas relies on undocumented labor is one of the state's open secrets, despite Republicans' tough-on-immigration stances. In 2022, more than a half million immigrants worked in the construction industry, according to a report by the American Immigration Council and Texans for Economic Growth. Nearly 60% of that workforce was undocumented.

"The state needs to leverage both U.S.-born and immigrant talent to fill construction jobs that power the Texas economy," the report notes. "It's not remotely practical to round up and deport everybody," said economist Ray Perryman, the president and CEO of the Waco-based Perryman Group.’

Industries devastated by rightwing racism, bigotry, and hate – conservatives are truly this stupid and ignorant.
He is full of gas!

He ain't building houses or anything really....
Let em whine. He is just whining about a loss of profits. He isn't going to go bankrupt. Nobody is doing a lot of construction work with lending rates this high. And construction is all about borrowed money.

^^^ Democrats advocate for slave wages paid under the table to undercut American workers and bypass laws American workers follow.

FIND THE MISSING KIDS!!!

There are issues that need addressed.

Trump’s entire political identity rests on race baiting, white victimhood, and shouted threar like the ones you are dismissing.

I dismissed because they aren't going to happen.

I do expect a lot of Trump’s race baiting threat will amount to nothing. There will be no concentration camps or mass deportations.

So why question what I said?

Did you vote for the man that promised them to you???

I mentioned before that a mass deportation of migrant workers was going to cause the price of a new home to go way up, and everyone laughed at me. Was everyone laughing because they know that mass deportation was a campaign promise that is not going to happen?

If true, I'll laugh right along with y'all.
Did home prices rise when Obama mass deported millions?

Nope. Our college educated base represents the tax payers. Your high school diplomats are the ones sponging off of welfare because they can’t find any jobs. To fix this, you’re going to use tariffs to jack up prices for the rest of us to subsidize their lack of ability or lack of motivation to acquire more valuable skills.

The Trump base are people who can’t compete in today’s economy and live off of handouts. They will continue to live off of handouts one way or another.
Isn’t the college base begging for the working class to pay off their student loans?

Weird

Those college graduates are going to be paying way more in taxes than they will get in loan forgiveness.

Of course they could have just not gone to college and sat on welfare like your cohort. Then that would be fine with you.

Or they could wait around for the government to hand them a low wage low skill job that I am forced to pay for and they still won’t make enough to pay any real taxes and they’ll still wind up on disability which I’ll pay for too!
Why do you think people that didn’t go to college just sit on welfare? Why do you think having a college degree means you make a lot of money?

You clearly don’t get out much

15th post
Not my concern.
Then why did you post the article? I assume you agree with me then …the very concept that they should be given any legal privileges is absurd.

We need to get them out, so they can at least attempt to do it right, so they aren’t permanent second class…it’s cruel that some want to simply keep them in the forever illegally status…akin to modern day slavery

As long as they can work, I'm all for giving them every other benefit of a working stiff.

We do but it isn't going to happen.

Hire Americans and pay them a good wage.

All these illegals are depressing wages.
Your WHITE Utopia doesn't really exist.

I pay my "Lawn Guy and his Family" a fair wage.
I have no idea if Javier is legal or not.
Don't care, but I assume he is "Legal", but I'm paying him anyway.

If Javier and his Buddies are gone in 3 months, then I know I'm gonna have to pay some LAZY white dude twice as much.

Do you want that?

Yes, I can afford it, and I ain't going back to mowing my yard with all the upkeep.
I'll gladly pay, but when I have to pay a LAZY ASS WHITE dude to do the same job, I'm blaming POS trump and his supporters.
