Trump's deportation vow alarms Texas construction industry

No. I just understand how the economy works and it doesn’t work through magical thinking.

MAGA is nothing if not magical thinking. It’s one giant free lunch. It’s an easy answer to a hard problem.

It’s a fantasy for weak minded.

No, you’re just incapable of honest self-reflection.

Tariffs won’t cost anyone anything. Right?

Deportations won’t affect the economy. Right?

Tax cuts lead to smaller deficits. Right?

You can earn more without getting more skills. Right?

MAGA is all about magical thinking. You can have everything you want without having to pay a price for any of it.

We have long needed sensible legal immigration policy that balanced labor needs but we haven’t been able to talk about that for 30 years because of right wing ethnic-nationalism.
Sensible legal immigration policy can only be done if Democrats agree to close the border. They have let in millions of illegals and then they claim they want sensible immigration policy.

They’ve tried at length to make a sensible deal but Republicans have demanded their concession first before even having a conversation about making any concessions. There’s zero reason to trust their sincerity.

It’s a farce.

Everytime I comment on this I confirm that tariffs raise prices to American consumers

And i dont mind repeating myself to libs who dont pay attention

Trump disagrees.

So does most of MAGA.

MAGA thinks Trump is going to lower prices, not raise them.

It’s magical.

But thanks for admitting you want to make things harder on struggling American families. Very brave.

Trump is MAGA and he said it wouldn’t happen.

Do you hold him accountable for such an obvious lie?

No. MAGA believes him and if they don’t believe him they don’t care.

There has never been a deal to close the border. Never. Are you referring to the sensible deal that let in 2500 illegals per day? That's what you call sensible?

Why not? Have we put all high school dropouts on welfare for so long that they are now unable to do low-skilled work? Take a morning, and train them.
Because those jobs have been done by migrants for so long now.

If you have a spare morning, I'd be willing to teach you how to cut rafters for a multiple ridge 8/12 custom home roof. I'll even loan you my saw.

So what? Are you saying welfare recipients are too stupid to learn?

I’m retired after 40 years of hard work. But if I were in my prime, and living off of welfare, I’d be glad to learn one of the jobs the illegals held rather than mooch off others. Doesn’t mean I need to cut rafters. There are all sorts of jobs held by illegals.

“Sensible” as in letting 5,000 MORE illegals swarm in, every single DAY? That is not sensible.

Once they deport all the illegals out of my parent’s old school district, and the school can start teaching in English and not dumbing down to the lowest common denominator, the caliber of the schools will go up - giving American kids a chance for a decent life. Also will send the house princes back up, after being depressed due to the bad schools.

This is happening all over the country, wherever the illegals settle. Bad schools. Gang activity. Lower property values. Neglected storefronts.

‘“Economists who have studied past large-scale deportations of immigrants from the United States have found those deportations to have been harmful to the U.S. economy and project that future large-scale deportations would also have negative impacts,” according to a review of the economic literature on the impact of mass deportations by Robert Lynch, professor emeritus of economics at Washington College, and Michael Ettlinger, the founding director of the Carsey School of Public Policy at the University of New Hampshire, in August. “Negative effects include lower national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and reduced employment and lower wages for citizens and authorized immigrants. The research finds that negative labor market consequences are found across income and pay levels. Economists anticipate that in the event of future mass deportations prices would rise and U.S. tax revenues would decline.”

Specifically, the authors wrote that researchers estimate that mass deportations would reduce the gross domestic product by 2.6% to 6.2% and the number of hours worked by as much as 3.6%.

Studies of the economic impact of past mass deportations “have consistently found that deportation policies have not benefitted U.S.-born residents,” the authors wrote.’

Mass deportation is bad economic policy – but blinded by their racism, bigotry, and hate, Trump and his supporters will nonetheless pursue this failed, wrongheaded policy.

That’s all about LEGAL immigrants.

We are talking about illegal aliens.
