The police are hired to serve and protect. They are law enforcement. There is no crime in having a mental problem or drug problem or any one of the many non legal or criminal situations we are forcing our police to deal with.

The police aren't trained in mental health or drug addiction problems or one of the many other situations we've forced on the police because we aren't willing to spend the money to hire the proper people to do those jobs.

Hiring the proper people will help the police do their actual jobs and save lives.
