BTW, Trump is not seriously looking to carry a third term. Someone else brought the matter up to him and pointed out that there are ways it could be done, and Trump was simply repeating that to the Press.

This came up in the Regan administration. It would be interesting to see the Supreme Courts interpretation of the 22nd Amendment. I can see them agreeing that after a one term president is out of office for a time and gets elected again that he could serve two terms because it is a new election not connected to his first term in office.
