Trump Won't Compel Corporations To Produce Medical Supplies Because...Conservatism

With every passing hour of this pandemic, the shortage of medical equipment—as hospitals prepare for a massive influx of sick Americans—becomes more acute, and the need for such equipment and supplies becomes more dire. The Defense Protection Act (DPA), passed in 1950, grants a president extraordinary powers to order private industry to respond, on behalf of the nation, to an urgent public need, vital to the defense and preservation of the country.

But we really are not “all in this together.” Americans are “all in this” with a Hobbesian fantasy called “conservatism,” which has reared its ugly head at the precisely the worst moment possible in American history. In a crisis environment which literally threatens the lives of hundreds of thousands of Americans, the extraordinary measures we should be taking to ramp up production of medical supplies would seem self-evident—except to that species of American blinded by a political ideology that abhors the very idea of government actually helping its people.

Trump administration won't compel corporations to produce medical supplies—because of 'conservatism'

Hobbesian Fantasy. Yep, that sums it up perfectly.

Hopefully, by now, others have posted enough evidence to convince you fricken whiners that you post nothing but BS.
Really. There are plenty of masks, shields and gowns and these Drs are just liberal whiners? Really?

That’s right, instead we should just increase tariffs on China and bring those jobs back here.
What does that have to do with medical supplies?

Once again a conservative proposes a solution that will take years to implement, for a problem which is an imminent crisis. It's like sitting on the railroad track with the freight train barrelling towards you and arguing about changing garages because the car shouldn't have broken down on the railroad track. Getting a different garage will prevent this from happening again.

Why isn't the op in his garage making hand sanitizer, toilet paper, ventilators, gloves & masks?

WHY????

Is it because of liberalism?

Maybe he lacks the necessary INFRASTRUCTURE & MATERIALS?

Does his garage require millions in retrofitting?

WHY???

Should his neighbors FORCE him to do it?

WHY????

Half the breweries in the nation are now making hand sanitizer instead of booze including Budweiser.
Why MANDATE and freak out the markets when free enterprise is taking up the slack?

Most medical supplies and nearly all our pharmaceuticals are made in China.

So....

Democrats are triggered because Trump won't go NAZI and nationalize the private sector.

Who didn't see this coming?
