I have no problem with Trump making a fool of himself. He does that on a daily basis. But when 100,000 or more people are going to die as a result of his foolishness and lack of preparations, it really isn't funny any more.

Trump did NOT close any borders. He didn't even stop people coming from China. Business people could still come in, because business is more important than people to Republicans. Can't stop business.

The wall has done NOTHING. Illegal border crossings are WAY UP under Trump. Now you have 40,000 non-criminal people needlessly incarcerated, who are going to get sick in the camps. What are you going to do when these 40,000 people get sick and start dying. This will be a crime against humanity.

This is an honest to good crisis. President Trump had one job: Keep the country safe from its enemies, foreign and domestic. This virus is an "enemy" and Trump not only did NOTHING for three months while his security staff advised him of the dangers, he pretended there was no threat at all.

Trump's solution for everything is "close the borders", as if that will work. It didn't work for illegal immigration. It didn't work for Russia when they refused to let anyone in or out. People still got out. Now, he's going around the world trying to steal the equipment and supplies that other governments had the good sense to purchase back before this virus became a problem, not after.

FEMA and DHS have been ineffective because they have no leadership. Trump fired everyone and those in charge are unqualified, unvetted "acting" Directors. The CDC botched the testing because the top three positions at the CDC have not been filled since Trump fired the people in charge.

The FEMA Director is an "acting", as all ALL of the agency directors at the DHS. This is the 4th head of the Department of Homeland Security since Trump was elected. With this kind of leadership, no one knows what they're doing or what they're supposed to be doing.

This virus isn't a Democrat or a Republican. It's coming for everyone, and still Donald Trump plays politics and blame. This isn't something he can blame on Obama, although God knows he's tried. This is something that Donald Trump owns, lock stock and barrel. Trump has not only let this virus loose in the country, with no preparation, he will destroy the country by doing so, with his total incompetence.

Remember when Donald Trump said he was going to undo everything that Barrack Obama did? This is the one promise Donald Trump is keeping, in spades.

On the contrary. America is EMBRACING socialism as a solution to the pandemic. Cash payments for everyone. Demanding the government order manufacturers to supply the government. Demanding the government provide equipment and supplies to the hospitals.

At the end of this, Americans will demand healthcare for all, that is not tied to their employment. With 10 million workers applying for unemployment insurance in the middle of a health crisis, now those people have lost their jobs AND their health insurance.

They'll want a government run by professionals who know that they're doing, not some reality show host, born into wealthy, who thinks that being on TV every day has boosted his "ratings". Or who uses the cover of the pandemic to punish states he doesn't like (New York, Washington, California), and reward those he likes (Florida), or fire his perceived "enemies" (the Inspector General who gave the Whistlblower Complaint to Congress).

That's what Trump does - he fires everyone who is doing their job, because in order to be loyal to the country, and to do your job properly, you have to be "disloyal" to the President, follow the laws you swore to uphold, and reveal his criminal behaviour. There is no leadership at DHS because the disloyal releadership refused to disobey the court orders and separate families. There is no leadership at FEMA, because Trump fired them all for disloyalty. There is no leadership at the CDC because Trump fired them for disloyalty.
