Trump Wants To Use U.S. Nuclear Submarines To Threaten Russia

He's also able to run his mouth because he has no power. Biden, OTOH, is tossing rhetoric Molotovs left and right and eventually Putin might decide to toss back.
Democrats had a cow every time Trump ran off at the mouth saying stupid things as though that would be the end of the world or country over and over.

This idiot however will almost certainly talk us into a ground war in Europe if he can't get his yap under control.

At the very least, such statements enable Putin to justify his invasion of Ukraine claiming it was to protect Russia from the evil NATO members wanting to unseat him.

Trump should shut the fuck up. He's deliberately undermining the President, and our nation, while we're on the brink of war.

But ... this criticism is just dumb. He merely said it was a smart strategy. He wasn't praising anyone, he wasn't saying Putin was doing the right thing. Just that it was a smart plan. Granted, he was making that comment to undermine Biden - implying, or outright saying, that Putin had outsmarted him. He's essentially doing what the KGB used to work so hard to accomplish - demoralizing the nation and weakening our unity and resolve. All this is far more dangerous and corrosive than "praising Putin's strategy". But, instead, Dems go full demagogue and pretend that the quote was Trump "siding" with Putin.
Our current president needs to shut up because every time he opened his Yap overseas he pushed us another step closer to being in the middle of a ground war in Europe.

You guys gave up any claims of politics ending at the edge of our shores decades ago so forget that.

We're Americans and we all have a right to criticize our gov't no matter what party is in power.

What part of "on the brink of war" do you not get? Is it going to take mushroom clouds on the horizon to get your attention?

Or are you dimfucks going to "own the libs" at all costs? Even if it destroys the nation?
Best start digging that fallout shelter and lining it with tinfoil.

We're no where close to being in a nuclear war.

Stop slobbering and listen: our country is so divided and lacking in resolve right now that we can't defend ourselves, much less our allies. If we don't figure out how to get over this "two-party" shit soon, we're done.
The only thing that would interfere with us Defending the US would be the slobbering dolt in the WH.

The boogie man isn't on his way to get us and we're not going to end up in a nuclear war over Ukraine.

All the chicken little sky is falling panic mongering just shows how insecure you idiots are.

Let’s just consider. Putin started the war. He had the Russians invade. He unleashed criminal war acts as his standard of conducting the war. And Putin is the complete scumbag who has rattled the nuclear saber.

All of that in mind, maybe hearing the idea that we might actually retaliate and utterly destroy Russia, if Putin ever launches any nukes against anyone, is exactly what the evil bitch needs to consider. You know, it might just stay his hand. (Sanctions sure as hell didn’t)

From the OP:

When he was president, Trump blocked nearly $400 million in military assistance to Ukraine while he attempted to extract a political favor from Zelenskyy. He also repeatedly criticized Ukraine while justifying Russian attempts to undermine it, including Putin’s takeover of the Crimea peninsula.

The Republican leader is now arguing that if he were still in office, Putin would not have launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. But Trump actually praised Putin’s strategy before the invasion began. Since then, he has offered a mishmash of attacks on Biden’s response to the crisis while claiming that he, too, wants “to end this tragedy without getting Americans snared into a gruesome and very bloody war.”

The idea of publicly threatening Russian sovereignty with American nuclear weapons would likely have the opposite effect.
everyday biden threatens russia, so what
and everyday someone has to clean up what biden said.

Two anti-nuclear activists dressed as then-President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin ride models of nuclear bombs in front of Berlin's Brandenburg Gate on July 30, 2020.

Sadly, Trump acts like nuclear power is just a game. Putin knows it's not a game - but he may use it out of desperation.
if the gop had a buffoon in the white house like biden i guess this characture would be accurate.

Go Joe!

Man that's rich.

The problem is that the message sent and received is not what you seem to wish it were.

The message received is that our current president is dangerous because either he's a loose cannon or because he has no damned idea what is actually coming out of his mouth.

Of course, that's why the WH has been working overtime all weekend trying to pull back from his comments and spin them into something other than what they were.

The former president recommended sending American nuclear weapons into Russian waters on Monday after recently claiming he wants to avoid a world war.

Former President Donald Trump suggested Monday that the U.S. threaten Russian President Vladimir Putin with American nuclear submarine patrols, which would likely dramatically escalate global tensions amid Russia’s ongoing assault on Ukraine.

“You should say: ‘Look, you mention that word one more time and we’re gonna send [submarines] over and we’ll be coasting back and forth, up and down your coast,’” Trump said in an appearance on Fox Business, continuing a tour of media appearances to downplay his questionable record on Russia and Ukraine.

Earlier in the interview, the former president bizarrely described nuclear weaponry as “the n-word… the nuclear word.”

Trump’s suggestion would be dangerous. If Washington sent nuclear submarines into Russian waters, Putin would likely see that as an intolerable provocation. He would almost certainly react with a greater threat or even an attack on U.S. assets, sparking a domino effect that could lead to war between two of the world’s strongest militaries.

Because of his preference for military showboating and his deep-rooted desire to project strength, Putin is extremely unlikely to see a move like the one Trump suggested as a reason to behave less aggressively.

I'm sure President Biden has plenty of nuclear power on standby. What do you think?

LOL. You guys are way too funny. What happened to Trump is Putin's bitch?

I disagree with Trump on this one. We should stay away from there. Help out with humanitarian things.

I think you're dead WRONG. The nuclear submarines have been the deterrent to Russian nuclear attack against the US for decades. The development of submarine-launched ballistic missile systems allowed for hidden nuclear submarines to covertly launch missiles at distant targets, making it virtually impossible for Russia (or any country) to successfully launch a first strike attack against the United States without receiving a deadly response.

Putin knows a nuclear first strike against the US would be suicide for him and would likely knock Russia right out of existence, as its major cities would be piles of radioactive ashes.

Putin already knows the US submarine nuclear missle threat. He doesnt need Trump or anyone else to remind him. He would almost certainly NOT react with a greater threat or even an attack on U.S. assets, sparking a domino effect. In fact, his reaction would be just the opposite of that, as he would begin to ease off in everything he's saying & doing, including the attacks on Ukraine.

But he does not ease off on his attacks on Ukraine, and he does talk about nuclear attacks, while moronic Russian TV reporters laugh at Joe Biden, and threaten a Russian nuclear missle strike at New York City. And what is it that makes these Russians so bold and pompous ? It is Biden's cowardly weakness, in cancelling nuclear missle testing. He doesn't get it that the more you back off from the Russians, the more they come foward. The more you come foward, the more they back off. This is why Putin did nothing toward Ukraine for 4 years while Trump was president.

With Joe Biden, the Russians have just what they want. Made to order for them.
