Why are people more upset about trump taking a photo there with a bible then they are of the historical church being burned down....
No one I've heard cares that he had a photo op. What they are upset about is how LE cleared the park so Trump could take that stroll. To me, it wasn't just a photo op; it was a territorial display. Yannow, like your dog does when you take him for a walk? Peeing on every post and bush? Leaving his "message." That's what Trump was trying to accomplish. Not that there's anything wrong with that. What was wrong was the show of force to move the protesters for no other reason.
And btw, I was totally FREAKED that the church was on fire. All that history going up in smoke? Thank God it received as little damage as it did. But if the Reverend of the church could be out among the protesters the very next day, passing out refreshment and offering prayers, I guess I too can remember that it was
one asshole that set that fire, not the thousands across the country crying out for justice.
The “protestors” that got cleared out were throwing rocks and frozen water bottles at the police. It was 20 mins before the curfew, and they were asked to move out multiple times. The decision to extend the safety zone an extra block was made that morning. They let the protestors continue anyway up until it was time to disperse. It’s not just one asshole either, and not just one church. Virtually every monument in the national mall, including the Lincoln memorial, has been defaced. 1000s of business across the country have been burned down. Tens of thousands have been looted. 100 of innocents have been senselessly been beaten. I cop executed. At least 4 more shot. A dozen or so run over by vehicles, and hundreds have been hospitalized.
9 unarmed black men were killed by police in 2019. It’s funny how you characterize the church burning as just one asshole, yet don’t do the same for police. Get your ******* priorities straight. I’ve been harping against police brutality and the fact they’ve been militarizing long before Micheal Brown. My stomach sank when I watched that cop have his knee on floyds neck for 9 minutes. You know what made it sink even more. When I saw an innocent lady getting beat with a 2x4. When I saw a 77 year old black former police chief trying to protect his store, getting shot to death, and being left to die in the streets. When I saw antifa burning the only possessions of a homeless man with mental issues begging them to stop, and then just laughing and cheering.
