And the reason why they were happy was the wrong politics of the winners of world war 1. The economy of the USA grew 100% after word war 1 - and this people were some of the people who had to pay the price for the wealth of the USA. They were indeed 100% convinced Adolf Hitler was right. I'm able to imagine that the ancestors of some of this people lived since more than 10,000 years where they had lived once.

A little background about WWII. Germany and the UK were at war and the UK badly needed military supplies. FDR came up with a Lend/Lease program, providing the UK with all sorts of military materiel. US warships would escort the supply ships to where UK vessels took over. There was a very strong pro-Germany faction here in the USA opposed to the Lend/Lease program. Many Americans joined Canadian and British forces to fight the Germans.

Japan had joined Germany and Italy in a triparty pact so that, when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and the USA declared war on Japan, Germany and Italy declared war on the USA.
