Trump Tells Pearl Harbor Joke After Japanese Journalist Asks Him Why He Didn't Tell Japan About The Attack On Iran

Every December 7th a Japanese Sailor liked walking thru the liquor store I worked at while I was in college, wearing his Japanese sailor's hat.

He must have thought it was funny.

I wonder what my Japanese (naturalized American) mother-in-law would have had to say about that.

I haven't been around in a while and most likely missed a boatload of opportunities to jump all over your dumb and twisted ass. TRUMP is not asking any country to bail him or us out. Our military is the greatest, and we will always control shipping around IRAN. All he is asking is that our allies do their fair share, a term you, on the left, are quite familiar with.

Why would any of our allies elect to do their “fair share” when Trump chose not to tell them because he knew they would object?
Why would they go against the wishes of their own people because of Trump?
Keep in mind Trump is the one invoking stiff tariffs, mocking their culture, bullying them…….what “good will” has Trump built with our allies?

Yes, but don't say that in front of the Japanese PM....out of courtesy, for heavens sake!
Because she can't handle the point being made in such a way?

She sure didn't seem put off by the accusatory tone of the question from the reporter.

Did she?

The whole episode was complety unnecessary

Like this stupid war.

A member of the Japanese media tried to embarrass Trump in front of the Japanese PM by asking him why he didn't tell them about the surprise attack against Iran.

I'm just sure that made the Japs there feel real comfortable bringing up Pearl Harbor! Next time maybe he can run a film of the nuke detonating over Hiroshima too! :shok:

Forever not the statesman, had I been Trump, I simply would have responded: "Because total surprise in this operation was vitally essential and Japan was really no where near the affected target area, so unfortunately in Japan's case, there was simply no need for you to know."

Trump once again shows his inability to grasp the concept of diplomacy

Here he is trying to convince the Japanese Prime Minister to support his war in Iran.
Then he insults her and her country by mocking Pearl Harbor.

I agree.

They were wrong to ambush, but Trump missed a great opportunity to give them the same response in a much more cryptic and powerful way.

Again, what am I missing? The Japanese pulled of one the greatest surprise attacks of modern warfare. Why is it discourteous to bring that up when the reporter asked about our surprise attack?

And why would they do their "fair share", when it no doubt costs less just to wait it out?

The PM was not amused. I thought it crass.....True....But crass.

That is Trump's brain---- like a bowling ball in a hillside flower garden. He will always run true, straight downhill, even if it is right through your prized Portulaca.

But to his credit, Trump really does tell you what's on his mind, he thinks what he says and he says what he thinks.

Japan wasn’t going to fight in this war no matter what Trump said.

Whatever, it is what it is...HUGE mistake.
What are your thoughts on the reported 30 thousand protesters who were killed by the Iranian regime just barely a couple of months ago?

In my view, that is what lit the green light on the whole military operation.

Japan wasn’t going to fight in this war no matter what Trump said.

Then why try to strong arm her?
Not many of our allies will support Trumps war

Do you think our closest ally Canada will support it?
How about Denmark?
How about Mexico?

No....he wasn't joking.
He's getting ready to bomb Tokyo as we speak.
