There you have it, in one verse. That is the very basis of the Republican party, and it has been since the very beginning. Everything else is just a smokescreen. Fortify the fortress and increase the destruction, or in some versions, the "calamity" of the poor.

In no small part, it is the American way and has been since the founding. I have written about the Whiskey Rebellion in the past. Now, this nation has two bookends. The wealthiest president in American history, Donald Trump. The second wealthiest president in American history, George Washington. Trump inherited his wealth, Washington married into it.

Here is a disturbing fact. In America, someone raised in the highest quintile of income but tests in the lowest quintile on standardized tests, like the SAT, well they have a better chance of attaining a college degree than someone raised in the lowest quintile of income but testing in the highest quintile on those standardized test scores.

I mean you have a heart attack. You are in the hospital, they do a bypass or they insert a stent. Your doctor, he is from India. Why? The above is why, no other country in the world operates that way. In India, well it is highly competitive. Sure, wealthy people have more resources, they pay for tutors and test prep. But the government does it's best to "level the playing field". Germany does too, and Denmark, Sweden, they show us how it should be done.

This whole eliminating the Department of Education, it is the culmination of more than two centuries of Elitism. It is immeasurable, what this country has lost, due to that elitism. Opportunity cost, one of the most poorly understood economic concepts, damn, full fledged Phd professors miss the Dylan/Clapton question. But it is real, and this country, all of us, pay the price every damn day.

I have toyed with the idea of running for Congress, but at this point, I am eyeing the Senate in 2026. Thom Tillis, on my platform, he is vulnerable. It will take at least ten million dollars to even amount a campaign. But it is time to end elitism. Social media is the key and I have a damn army behind me, six highly successful kids.

But the kickoff of my campaign will be a recorded speech, on all social media, "Level the playing field". The status quo, well it has to be on a field with a 30% grade. With a second Trump administration, it is going to steepen to 50%. The poor, they are playing football at the bottom of the hill. The wealthy, they are at the top of the hill. And no, there is no halftime and changing fields. I am not even asking for that. Just make the damn field level.
