Trump stops applying tariffs to Mexico.

You can spot it by the unemployment lines.

Seems you only seem to care about those when superfluous civil servants are occupying them.

And it's not the 1970's, there are no actual lines anymore.

After speaking with President Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico, I have agreed that Mexico will not be required to pay Tariffs on anything that falls under the USMCA Agreement. This Agreement is until April 2nd. I did this as an accommodation, and out of respect for, President Sheinbaum. Our relationship has been a very good one, and we are working hard, together, on the Border, both in terms of stopping Illegal Aliens from entering the United States and, likewise, stopping Fentanyl. Thank you to President Sheinbaum for your hard work and cooperation!

The only way to win such a war is how he is operating with the China tariffs. I've never seen tariffs applied and removed so often in my life, it doesn't allow for business planning.

In the end, he will capitulate. I'm not even sure he can obtain better terms in the USMCA now as he appears uncommitted.

Look, I love Trumps confrontation of China and your border, that is a big deal for people like me. I'm just not sure he understands how to handle the heat that people place on industries in red states. If he would have offered say, 50% of tariff revenue to be distributed to industries impacted he might have been able to obtain buy in.

China is far easier to beat in such a trade war than Mexico or Canada, that's my take on it all.

All of this said, I am quite convinced that reciprocal tariffs will be coming to all countries, it's far easier to sell to Americans and even businesses won't be able to argue against them.
shows your inexperience.

I don't know, but he could really do immense damage to the Canadian economy if he wanted and he would get all of his terms. It's not easy though and his Party will always be pressured to convince Trump otherwise.

Nations are cheating, it isn't just via tariffs though I assure you.
cheating?

disagreement on that is widespread

Americans are smuggling fentanyl trough ports of entry.

What Mexico and China are responsible for are the chemicals to combine.

Mexico cannot stop fentanyl trafficking by Americans

How long until trump creates a nasty nickname for her?
It’s what trump does BEST.
His brilliant "you need us more than we need you, so nyah nyah nyah" foreign policy is off to a shaky start.

Maybe it'll improve if he increases the threats, intimidation, coercion and extortion.

Yes, cheating. Suppressing currency, applying unfair regulations and taxes, limiting Duty Free, placing covert government officials in foreign companies working on their soil and tampering with jobs etc.

There is a great amount of protectionism in NAFTA 2.0 and Canadians would be far better off paying less for important products. We are broke as hell over here because of the massive, covert government expansion and protection of oligopolies who charge an arm and a leg for something you would pay far less for.

The great dealmaker.

They called his bluff.

What an embarrassment.

Poor Mac & Cheese. Resorting to lies like the good Dim you are. :( The Mexicans turned over 29 major cartel members to the US Government. Illegal immigration to the US is at an all-time historic low, and Mexico is spending billions to beef up the border and agreeing to the remain in Mexico policy, all in the first 30 days of Trump's second term.

But Mac & Cheese spins this as the Mexican's have gotten the best of Trump. Only in Dim Mac & Cheese Land.

My first instinct was that this was all a big bluff to obtain better terms in the USMCA renegotiation that occurs in a year. He will delay again in April and just keep the merry-go-round going.

Lutnick was on TV yesterday saying "there won't be any pauses or anything like that". but I wasn't convinced at all, he is not a good liar, the guy sounds like a used car salesman every time he speaks lol. I imagine Canada will be next to receive a pause, at least on energy products.

It would take some serious balls to apply tariffs for a year and demand companies come back. There is too much pressure coming to him and many industries will fund the resistance to these tariffs. They certainly caught me off guard when he announced them. It's always to try and squeeze someone lol, I don't think it will work in this instance but I've been wrong before, he is always unpredictable

Nations are getting sick and tired of Trump's fake tariffs, all he's doing is snapping his fingers and watching countries jump. He is bullying them, provoking them then backing down when the full consequences upon Americans dawns on him.

Sooner or later one or more of these nations is going to initiate the tariffs not Trump, they are going to announce tariffs and be done with it, no backing down, no silly games.

If the turd knew how to negotiate we'd have none of this, the sooner some other country or group of countries call his bluff and push back hard, the sooner we'll get a regime change here.

Some globalist propaganda, nothing more.

Another RAH RAH RAH puff piece that most Americans saw through.

lol, you are just totally pathetic.

It’s like when your side said 2.9% growth under Obama abysmal and pathetic but 2.9% growth under Trump was an economic miracle.
