Trump most likely wanted to spew what he was going to do for that is his personality. It is in his interest to have this thing end sooner rather than later. To comfort the population is one of the President's duties. Unfortunately, we are divided and the media is 95% pro Progressive. If Republicans lose many seats in the midterms, they need to look at themselves also.

In his interest to end sooner......... That's true. But it was also in his interest to not even go into Iran. Especially with the mid terms coming.
Is his brain getting so bad that he didn't realize the price of gas would go up? That it would impact the American economy? That most Americans, including MAGA simply wouldn't support another regime change war?

I think he just didn't care what even his supporters thought. Trump has a record of doing that. His "Trump care." His 2 assaults on our 2A. His tariff wars. His BBB. Not releasing the files.

Like how the hell does he flip flop on so many issues and still pretend to care what anyone thinks. Especially his supporters.
Maybe he knows he'll keep a lot of his supporters, regardless of what he does. And they'll spend a lot of their time online, in forums like this and on social media, defending him.
