8. If your military background led you to believe that people could launch a military invasion across water without dealing with the world's most powerful Navy, then yes.
Okay, except that it's only a couple hundred miles to cross that water, and the Chinese have missiles that can take out our navy if it comes into range.
2. You offered your opinion of what Trump would mean to the Bond Market. I countered with what hte Bond Market thought.
That they are selling off bonds now? Um. yeah.
4. You are not "understanding" the other side. YOu are, as always, blindly accepting it, and rejecting that of your own side.
Well, the history isn't really in dispute. You aren't going to find any history book that doesn't openly admit that the west's exploitation of China between the Opium Wars and the Chinese Civil War wasn't a whole pile of awful behavior by white people. (Then again, when don't white people behave badly. It's kind of our thing.)
Here's the thing. I don't think Taiwan is worth ONE AMERICAN LIFE. Not even dumb-ass people from Jesus Land who signed up because the coal mine closed. (Those people were always a joy to deal with when I was in the service.)
6. I have already debunked your claim that any nation would react the same. You are engaged in the Logical Fallacy of Proof by Assertion. Your point is invalid.
Uh, no, you really haven't. You gave the example of Scotland, which is technically already it's own country and is in a voluntary union with the rest of the UK, and has voted to remain so. A better example would be Northern Ireland, which the British have fought for years to keep them uppity Irishmen in their place.
