Daily Telegraph Sydney / Australia today:

Trump's brutal swipe at Australia

Donald Trump has addrressed the US from the White House where he lashed out at Australia for a third time for not helping the US in the war against Iran and its proxies.

#####

Wonder what, exactly, he expects Australia to do?
Send ground troops to get slaughtered by the 600,000 strong Iranian army?
Send 'obsolete' war ships to get blown up and their crews slaughtered?

I mean, what does he expect, given that he seems to be "America only" and hasn't/maybe won't give an iron-clad guarantee that the ANZUS Alliance is still a thing.

Australia is trying to re-arm, starting with the AUKUS submarines, but even that doesn't seem guaranteed.

Australia had a free trade agreement with the US [$28 billion annual profit for the US]...he ripped that up.

He seems to want everything, take everything...and give little in return.

As of March 10-12, 2026, Australia has deployed an E-7A Wedgetail surveillance aircraft and roughly 85 Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for an initial four-week mission. The deployment aims to protect civilians and secure airspace against threats from Iran.

Air-to-air missiles on the way

While the deployment of the Wedgetail was seen by some defence analysts as a fairly obvious contribution Australia could make, the offer of missiles took some by surprise.

The request for military support came in writing from the UAE, and the prime minister appeared to indicate that missiles were a specific request.

"In response to a request, my government intends to provide advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles to the United Arab Emirates," Anthony Albanese said.

He got himself in over his head. He also doesn't seem to realize that most of the treaties are about defense, not aiding in his agression.

"Ray" is more effectual than Australia in fighting the axis of evil

He was played for fool by Netanyahood. He so far in over his head and with current unstable mental state there is no telling what he will do next.

I don't know about any of that, but I do know that when Trump suggests throwing another shrimp on the barbie, Marco Rubio sure gets a frightened look on his face.

Not so brutal. Australia doesn't take a word of it with any care.

Trump listed America's traditional allies which didn't help Trump's war on Iran. Iran is more resilient than expected and Trump doesn't know what to do with Iran which doesn't want to make a deal.

It's possible Iran, and the rest of the world, could conclude that despite America's military might and tactical skill – readily displayed in this weekend's intricate operation to rescue two downed airmen deep in Iran – it is not negotiating from a clear position of strength.

"We won," Trump insisted during his press conference on Monday afternoon. "They are militarily defeated. The only thing they have is the psychology of: 'Oh, we're going to drop a couple of mines in the water'."

Australia was banned from getting nuclear weapons.
Should've demanded nuclear weapons back in the 1950s when it allowed Britain to test atom bombs in the Outback.
Australia, very foolishly, went around signing every nuclear non-proliferation treaty in existence..."world peace".
Now it's basically defenceless, its Alliances seemingly not worth the paper they're written on.
Australia signed up with America for every war in the last 100 years.
Signed up after 9/11 to the Coalition Of the Willing...sent troops to Afghanistan.

Now today, one of Australia's bravest and most highly decorated war heroes has been arrested and charged with war crimes [Afghanistan], could be tossed in prison for the rest of his life.
It's a wonder Australia can get anyone to join the armed forces.

He attacks anyone.

The UK, a country that had a trade imbalance with the US, got tariffs, for no reason other than Trump felt like telling everyone it was because the US had trade imbalances with everyone else....

Then he's been attacking Starmer every week during the whole affair, even though Starmer has allowed the US to use UK military bases.

Trump is just an absolute cockfucker.

Just be an ally, show you are more than just talk, just fair weather friends when you need us, it would not have taken much just the effort to impress Trump just to show that within your means, you've got our backs too just for a change.

No one expects you to send 50,000 ground forces to fight Iran door to door---

After all, everyone in the world has a stake in the USA defeating Iran. Ironically--- probably more than the USA itself has in it.

Instead, all these countries around the globe have shown themselves to be paper tigers, unable to really fight to even defend themselves.

Well, a lot of countries have burned their bridges with the USA now.

Where's the defending to be done?

Trump isn't "defending", he's attacking.

Nobody should have nuclear weapons. NOBODY

The USA might still have a few kicking around, true. Lessons learned. Ask our Japanese allies about this topic, please.

Australia signed up with America for every war in the last 100 years.

They signed up with Great Britain. We have learned that some of the events America was dragged into were orchestrated by London. Study harder.

Signed up after 9/11 to the Coalition Of the Willing...sent troops to Afghanistan.

No such term existed 25 years ago: "Coalition Of the Willing"...that is something Europe has come up with to try to defend it's Eastern Flank (Ukraine). (Don't get me wrong, I support Ukraine's victory over oppression).

Obama turned that effort into gay shit. Any military campaign needs to be quick and decisive. We were just about there, but then London stepped in again and thought they could manipulate the taliban to their benefit.

Now today, one of Australia's bravest and most highly decorated war heroes has been arrested and charged with war crimes [Afghanistan], could be tossed in prison for the rest of his life.

I have not heard about this. Sorry about that. Again, the term "war crimes" is an oxymoron, and those following orders should not be held accountable unless they commit serious moral violations, like killing/raping civilians wontonly.

It's a wonder Australia can get anyone to join the armed forces.

It's because Australia is following the pseudo-laws of woke-ism. We have no problem recruiting in the USA now that the men understand they will be allowed to be men and fight for moral principles.
