Being a "great negotiator" in our culture is one thing. There are certain conventions that exist universally. Your adversaries are basically truthful (except in their demands); they have the power to make decisions and concessions; they are acting rationally in their own best interests; and they want to "make a deal."

When these conventions are not present, your "western" negotiating skills are literally meaningless. You will either come away with no deal at all, or you will have a deal that is less than worthless because your adversary has no intention of living up to its commitments, or even the written agreement. This was the problem with the JCPOA and it is the current problem in the "negotiations" with whoever-the-****-we are negotiating with in Pakistan.

Truly, President Trump MUST revert to "Plan A" at this point - bomb the fukkers into the Stone Age.
