I’m for lower priced medicine. The way to go about that is to negotiate...not sign an EO.

Without an EO or a new Law there is no leverage to negotiate lower prices. What they lower here they would have to raise in other countries to get to an equilibrium price.

Trump wants all drug prices in the US to match the lowest worldwide.

I'm sure President Trump WANTS all drug prices to match the lowest worldwide, unfortunately for him he doesn't have the Constitutional Authority to dictate to the private market what they can charge for goods (although incentives and disincentives could be used via legislation). He does however have the authority to dictate what the Executive Branch Departments of The Federal Government will pay for drugs under federal programs.

It's still a bit murky but it appears the authority he's exercising will affect only what the Federal Government directly (or by proxy through Federal Medicaid funding to the States) pays for drugs.

The EO specifically orders that :
"Sec. 5. Establishing Most-Favored-Nation Pricing. (a) Within 30 days of the date of this order, the Secretary shall, in coordination with the Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy, the Administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and other relevant executive department and agency (agency) officials, communicate most-favored-nation price targets to pharmaceutical manufacturers to bring prices for American patients in line with comparably developed nations."

It's still a HUGE step forward and presents an opportunity to save both patients AND the Federal Government an enormous amount of money. I suspect that lowering prices for Medicare & Medicaid will have a positive effect on private market prices as well.

I guess we'll see as the additional details become available.

This EO will do NOTHING to lower prescription drug costs. Because that's the only one to have any truth or validity.

In fact, Trump has "repealled" the Inflation Reduction Act, cancelled the price drops for insulin and the other drugs Biden obtained price reductions for, and started a process which won't do a thing to reduce drug prices in anything less than two years.

He could have just allowed the Biden price cuts to take effect, and taken credit for it like he always does, but no, he had to actively harm Americans in desperate need of price relief.

He can open a DOJ Anti Trust investigation on them. He can block exports on a whim, Republicans can call the Officers of each and every Corporation in front of Congress and DARE them to mis-speak. He can have the FDA delay approval on ALL new drugs.....
