Scroll up a bit buddy.I read your OP. Never heard of Crown Heights in DC, apparently a shittier hole inside a shithole with rampart crime.
Yeah, like I'm going to read an entire thread started by someone who cluelessly mentions a neighbourhood that doesn't exist, at least in DC.Scroll up a bit buddy.
OMG, you are hard headed.Yeah, like I'm going to read an entire thread started by someone who cluelessly mentions a neighbourhood that doesn't exist, at least in DC.

Doesn't DC have enough crime without creating shithole neighborhoods that don't exist?OMG, you are hard headed.![]()
Look at your source. You might as well have labeled it DNC.It's Congress Heights, not Crown Heights. My mistake.
From the top of Ralph Jenkins’s driveway in Southeast Washington, under the shade of a Kentucky coffee tree, he can look left and see the gleaming sports arena where the Washington Mystics play amid spanking new shops or look right toward one of the city’s most crime-saturated neighborhoods. The cluster of blocks where he lives in Congress Heights has had nine homicides this year — the highest concentration in the District.
What Jenkins doesn’t see is any sign of President Donald Trump’s federal policing surge.
He does see police officers before and after Mystics games: “They’re on every corner till the Caucasians go home, and then they’re gone,” said Jenkins, who is Black. He also sees city police swarm the area after a shooting. “Then they zoom out of here as fast as they came in,” he said.
But when he has had occasion to call for police service — such as when somebody was blocking his driveway — Jenkins said he had to wait until the next blue moon for a squad car. His neighbor Nathalie Reshard said she waited 45 minutes for the police after her boyfriend was held up at gunpoint.
“We don’t get much of nothing over here,” said Jenkins, 80, a retired mechanic who has owned his house in Congress Heights for 46 years.
“Nothing” includes no sign of the National Guard members Trump has brought in from red states to eradicate the supposed “complete and total lawlessness” that he ascribes to the city.
In a day spent wandering around Congress Heights, I saw D.C. police responding to calls, assisting ambulance crews and watching over a supermarket that has been plagued by shoplifting. There was, however, no sign of the federal presence that has been imposed on places tourists frequent: the National Mall, the monuments, downtown, even Georgetown.

Well there ya go! He's going to wage his unconstituonal war in a republican city!Trump is making noises about targeting New Orleans and no Chicago for the next outing of National Guard troops. Thoughts USMB?
President Trump said on Wednesday that he may deploy the military to New Orleans before Chicago, prioritizing cities whose leaders ask for intervention.
Why it matters: The new stance is a pivot from Tuesday afternoon, when he seemed prepared to deploy the National Guard to Chicago.
The latest: "We're making a determination now," Trump said during an Oval Office meeting. "Do we go to Chicago or do we go to a place like New Orleans where we have a great governor, Jeff Landry, who wants us to come in and straighten out a very nice section of this country that's become quite, quite tough, quite bad?"
State of play: In an unprecedented move, Trump took federal control of Washington, D.C.'s police department and brought in National Guard troops out of concern over the city's crime rates.
- He said it would take two weeks to straighten out crime in New Orleans. "Easier than D.C.," he added.
What they're saying: "We will take President @realDonaldTrump's help from New Orleans to Shreveport!" Landry wrote on X.
- Trump laid out a plan to bring troops to Democratic-led cities, including Chicago and New York City.
- "We're pretty much waiting until we get asked," Trump said on Wednesday about Chicago and Baltimore.
Zoom in: New Orleans, a city of 363,000 people and where 57% of residents are Black, has seen homicides drop by 27% in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period last year, stats compiled by the Major Cities Chiefs Association (MCCA) showed.
- The City of New Orleans and New Orleans Police Department released a joint statement on Wednesday highlighting a reduction in crime and collaborations with state and federal law enforcement agencies.
- "The City of New Orleans and NOPD remain committed to sustaining this momentum, ensuring that every neighborhood continues to feel the impact of these combined efforts," the statement said.
- Violent and property crime in the U.S. fell to a 20-year low in 2024, per new FBI data, with early 2025 numbers showing homicides down in major cities.
Yes, but: New Orleans had one of the nation's highest homicide rates at 34.2 per 100,000 residents in 2024, according to an Axios analysis of FBI data.
- Trump has still claimed crime is out of control in Democratic-led cities like New Orleans, D.C. and Chicago — even as rates there also fall.
- Louisiana has the nation's fourth-highest homicide rate among states, with 9.3 per 100,00 residents, an Axios analysis found.
- That state's rate is not only driven by New Orleans but also Shreveport and Baton Rouge, according to Axios review.
Then why is crime down? It's Congress Heights, not Crown Heights. My mistake.

It is completely unprecedented. In other words every Dem run shit hole is a cesspool of violent criminals and will likely need National Guard to reign in the violence.
It isn’t “unprecedented”, other than we’ve never seen politicians hate their people so much they just let violent criminals run rampant and unchecked.
In my opinion the Dems running these shit holes should be arrested for dereliction of duty and aiding and abetting violent criminals. We need to fix the super high crime rates, not just make excuses and say “we just have to live with it”, which is the Democrat mindset on the issue.
Maybe he heard about Democrats and "not Democrats" on USMB crying because he wasn't planning to send any NG to a Red State.Trump is making noises about targeting New Orleans and no Chicago for the next outing of National Guard troops. Thoughts USMB?

I'm beginning to think that we should target democrat cities in red states and let democrat cities in blue states have their high crime if that's the way they want it. Then when voters see the difference in the crime rates between red and blue, democrats' 19% approval numbers will sink even lower.Trump is making noises about targeting New Orleans and no Chicago for the next outing of National Guard troops. I am not privy to the rationale' for policing Congress Heights. It is a very high crime area. Here is a link:It's Congress Heights, not Crown Heights. My mistake.

Its not about crime. Its about power.I'm beginning to think that we should target democrat cities in red states and let democrat cities in blue states have their high crime if that's the way they want it. Then when voters see the difference in the crime rates between red and blue, democrats' 19% approval numbers will sink even lower.
So, you are against the power to stop crime? Its not about crime. Its about power.
I am for crime control. So, you are against the power to stop crime?
Except you aren't controlling crime. In fact, crime is rampant under democrat policies. Control crime and then I'll agree with you. Hell, Trump would agree with you. We wouldn't need the military if democrats controlled crime. You think 500 murders a year is controlling crime, and that's just talking about murders, not all crime. You guys have built in revolving doors at jails, forcing law enforcement to arrest the same people over and over and over and over again. We could defund the police if you didn't keep on letting criminals right back out.I am for crime control.
I am against military dictatorship.
These are not the same.
That's like putting a dam in the river. Add soon as they leave, the criminal flow will come back. He's just trying to prove a point, that you can stop heavy crime. Did he say there were no deaths for that month? If he didn't do the dangerous areas how were there no deaths for the whole month?New Orleans is one city where the case can legitimately be made for federal intervention.
In D.C., in a neighborhood like Crown Heights, where crime is rampant, not a federal troop has set foot in there. They are all in high visibility areas, the tourist zones, where crime is under control. I believe that if Trump and his cronies are serious, they would put the Guard in those areas where tourists and TV crews don't go.
Neither are you. These are all MAGA shitholes.Except you aren't controlling crime. In fact, crime is rampant under democrat policies. Control crime and then I'll agree with you. Hell, Trump would agree with you. We wouldn't need the military if democrats controlled crime. You think 500 murders a year is controlling crime, and that's just talking about murders, not all crime. Upshot of National Guard in DC? At least the Washington Monument is safe
Thousands of Washingtonians protested the presence of the National Guard on Saturday, but one-on-one, the soldiers are not exactly menacing.chicago.suntimes.com
So there are only 2,000 NG troops. If some areas don't get coverage, then the DC police should handle it.
