For the record, slavery was bad

Not for the slaves that came to the US. They were already slaves before a white ship showed up in Africa to pick them up. Going to the Middle East was just as horrific as being a slave in Africa. Their lives were cheap and expendable in Africa. In the US they were housed, fed, and when they were injured they were cared for.

Furthermore, every black in the US today is FAR better off. No one benefitted more from slavery than blacks in the US today.
