On The Smithsonian and Slavery: Trump’s Whitewashing of History

Here is the creepy thing, Many posting here have never had the pleasure of visiting the Smithsonian
To see for them self's the treasure it is.

It’s not antisemite to want to show other things at national museum then just the holicaust.
True, but that's not what you were asked.
There are museums out there, including one in DC and all over Germany that address just that event
And if the leader of the German government posted this on his personal twitter account:
“The Deutsches Museum is OUT OF CONTROL, where everything discussed is how horrible our Country is, how bad the Holocaust was, and how unaccomplished the downtrodden have been — Nothing about Success, nothing about Brightness, nothing about the Future,”

You know very well that there'd be outrage, Jews of all political colors would be outraged, try posting that on your own Twitter account and see what happens you ******* idiot.

What is wrong with that post? What’s to fear??

Nope. A traitor's a traitor. And referencing an old movie is about as weak an argument as you can get. Good movie though. Well, half. When it gets to the part where Sondra Locke's character shows up it turns to shit (like everything else she was ever in).

Actually, the movie shows that in the year 1976, even already liberal hollywood had no problem with a confederate veteran presented as a sympathetic hero of a movie, who even got a happy ending.

And not once scene in any way made excuses for or aplogized for slavery or anything like that.

The main character was a farmer who joined for revenge after the union army came though and killed his family.

Completely believable.

EVen to patriotic Americans of 1976.

THat shows that the veterans of the war, were not looked at as "traitors". Not by Traditional, patriotic Americans.

Here struth Post this on your twitter account and send a copy to the ADL, then you'll begin to understand why we're disgusted at Trump's remarks.

“The Deutsches Historisches Museum is OUT OF CONTROL, where everything discussed is how horrible Germany is, how bad the Holocaust was, and how unaccomplished the downtrodden have been — Nothing about Success, nothing about Brightness, nothing about the Future,”

That would be as horrifying to a Jew as Trump's remarks are to an African American.

Dickhead.

Why can’t you answer my question?

If you did post that text in Germany you'd probably be arrested:

Perhaps it should be a crime here to publicly minimize slavery.

No in every state you aren’t going to prosecuting for stating you think a museum focuses too much on one topic

You generalized at a national level by referring to "Germany doesn’t have the same love for freedom that we do in America" so that's why I corrected you, a "thank you" would be nice.

The children are wailing now that they are getting the “statues pulled down” treatment

Correct according to you, I would be jailed for simply being critical of the exhibits at a national museum

Well actually trump can say what he likes, it's the financial coercion of the museum to do his will that's objectionable and is probably illegal too, not that the law matters here anymore.

Of course he can give whatever opinion he wants

Congress controls its budget or at least most it, not the president

He can certainly express his opinions and pressure them to show whatever…anyone can.
