However, 2024 has brought immense challenges, with higher interest rates, tighter financing, and adverse policy shifts in key states contributing to over 100 solar bankruptcies based on our industry data, a number unseen before in our almost 20 years in the solar sector.

California was particularly hard hit due to new net metering rules under NEM 3.0 that radically reduced system economics.

These adverse state policy impacts exacerbated financing shifts, triggering plummeting demand and an 80% decrease in rooftop solar installation volume. The California Solar & Storage Association reports that the fallout includes thousands of stalled projects, over 17,000 industry layoffs, and a wave of high-profile bankruptcies.

Actually, it's both. Global warming causes the climate to change. As the oceans warm, wind patterns change, and precipitation ends up in different places than we are used to. Also, as the atmosphere warms, it holds more water, which leads to increased rainfall. We are seeing this right now in the increased amount of atmospheric rivers. The affect of a much warmer Arctic is that the jet stream slows and becomes much more wavy. So we get polar air reaching farther south in the cusp of the wave, and warm air in the arctic where the west side reaches into the arctic.

Sea levels were predicted to rise several feet by 2000. In reality seal levels rise only millimeters per year.

Predictions of Pacific islands disappearing never happened. In fact they gained land.

Predictions of losing 20-50% of species in decades never happened.

Deforestation did not happen but was predicted.

Global famine due to climate change fell flat, in fact global hunger declined dramatically.

In reality Arctic ice never went away. It just fluctuates from year to year.
