Trump removes Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook from office, citing fraud allegations

Trump does have a problem admitting when he has been wrong. That doesn't mean that all that support him have the same problem.
The fish rots from the head. Trump sets the tone and MAGA follows. Everyone? No. Probably not. I haven’t talked to every MAGA. But in my experience it’s exceedingly common.
Sure, for the first time in the history of the world, 15-year old's have wised up. You run with that. The more likely scenario is that there is a large group of our society that has never grown up.
Are we supposed to think MAGA represents some kind of maturity? We’ve never had anyone behave so childishly in the White House.
I don't think they hate the country, I just think they are misled. I am not saying they should agree with everything he says or does, but disagreeing with everything he says or does is equally as problematic. For some reason, TDS folks are unable to see that.
Maybe if Trump wouldn’t spend so much time trolling people to intentionally piss them off, it wouldn’t seem like we disagree with him so much.

Show many any post, at any time, at any year I've been on USMB in which I EVER said anyone who disagrees with my (or any other leader) must hate America.

It's that kind of disconnect that puts you far more into a cult than any MAGA will ever be.
This is pretty deplorable.
I think anybody who embraces Biden policies, who rejects most Trump policies most likely hates the country

Fake fraud allegations that he had cooked up just so he could do this.
You mean like the Democrats did against Trump and are still doing? Payback is such a ***** isn't it?

I don’t think attacking the independence of the federal reserve board is good. Does that mean I hate America?
Wait a moment here; Trump is not attacking the independence; he does what Democrats have done to Trump for years on end and makes unkind remarks about particular people of the federal reserve board. It annoys me too but saying he attacks the independence is pure nonsense. What has Trump done bad by wanting federal rates lower?

Beyond his threats against Powell for not doing what he wants, did you not realize that you’re in a thread about him firing a governor who didn’t do what he wants?

That’s how he attacks their independence.

Trump is not in charge of the Federal Reserve, **** him.

JD Vance is next. Will you make that same claim about him as you did about Trump.
JD Vance is a very flawed individual, but he demonstrate the same childishness as Trump. He’s tried a few times, but I think that was more performative as he mimics the crowd he’s in, which is a characteristic that he seems to have adopted in adulthood.

I doubt JD Vance had much future in presidential politics. He lacks any real charisma.

This is pretty deplorable.
Really? How so.

Maybe sometime in the future you will decide you want to be seen as an intelligent person and won't think proof texting is legitimate debate. And you will have the integrity to post my entire context and not one line from it.

And you will have the intellectual honesty to refer to my post to you outlining the Biden policies that MAGAs reject and the policies/concepts/initiatives that MAGAs embrace.

And will admit when you mischaracterized a person's statement into something they never ever said.

I know that's asking too much of you now. But maybe someday. . .

The documents she signed are online for anyone to see. Zero doubt she committed fraud. Regardless, the ***** is gone. She can go quietly or pay lawyers a ton of money to achieve the same result. My hope is that she fights it and gets further humiliated. Since she's a Dim, and black, my guess is she fights it. I hope so.
I haven't heard her deny what she did. All she keeps saying is, "I'm not leaving, he can't do this."

You’re playing the same tired game.

You don’t want to acknowledge your own deplorable statement so you’ll whine about context.

As is always the case, context doesn’t change anything. It’s just an excuse to allow you to avoid addressing the point.

I don’t think you’re doing this on purpose. I think you’re just that deep in partisanship.

Do you call that listening?

Let me ask you a different question. Was Obama flawed and an authoritarian?

Good! The statute seems to give him this authority.

More importantly, the Federal Reserve is part of which branch? It certainly isn't its own branch, as the Constitution has not been amended.

Here we go! Fasten your seatbelts.

President Donald Trump ousted Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook on Monday, alleging she lied on mortgage forms by declaring two primary residences.
In a letter to Cook, Trump said the Federal Reserve Act provides that she can be removed at his discretion.
"As set forth in the Criminal Referral dated August 15, 2025, from Mr. William J. Pulte, Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, to Ms. Pamela Bondi, Attorney General of the United States…there is sufficient reason to believe you may have made false statements on one or more mortgage agreements," Trump wrote. "For example, as detailed in the Criminal Referral, you signed one document attesting that a property in Michigan would be your primary residence for the next year.
"Two weeks later, you signed another document for a property in Georgia stating that it would be your primary residence for the next year," Trump continued. "It is inconceivable that you were not aware of your first commitment when making the second. It is impossible that you intended to honor both."
...

Ok, now about those 34 felony convictions for business fraud.

Are we going to count them.
