Trump proposes “joint venture” with Iran.

You can’t make this up.

President Donald Trump told ABC News on Wednesday morning that the U.S. may seek a "joint venture" with Iran to safeguard the Strait of Hormuz, following his Tuesday announcement of a two-week ceasefire.

"We're thinking of doing it as a joint venture. It's a way of securing it -- also securing it from lots of other people," Trump said when asked whether he would allow Tehran to charge tolls for shipping to transit the strategic waterway. "It's a beautiful thing," the president added.

This war was a disaster by every conceivable metric. Now Trump all but giving permission to Iran to charge tolls through the strait. Trump even calls tolls a “beautiful thing!” They did not impose tolls before the war. Hormuz was open, and now it is closed and Iran decides who passes and who doesn’t.

When will MAGA learn that Trump is a king…the king of fu** ups.
Both regimes are corrupt to the core...

Why did they goto war at all...

Could anyone think how these two pieces of scum are going to give the good people of the world a better deal?

Where did you get that quote from? Not in your link

Can tolls be charged in international waterways?

The Strait of Hormuz is recognized as an international waterway under the principle of transit passage, even though its waters fall within the territorial seas of Iran and Oman.

Its part of the rambling dementia. He will randomly opine on any topic, hence why he is a media darling.

In the real world, Iran now controls the Straits and is charging tariffs. I imagine the Gulf States will actively start building pipelines and rail lines, and of course iran will try to block them via the Houthis in Yemen. Its a definite problem for the nations there, BUT NOT FOR US.

How so? Iran has no navy, no air force, and few missiles left. They could lob missiles at passing ships from the shore, but that would result in more bombing from the US military.

They can *****, moan, and threaten all they want to, but I don't think they're in no position to make any demands right now.

Wait, what am I saying? Let's just bomb them back into the stone age.
Iran does not need a full navy to disrupt traffic in the Straits. They could use fastboats, maybe hire some "buccaneers". They still have about half of their missile inventory and production capacity has hardly been impacted. Same for drones, Iran can still make about a thousand a day. Then there are artillery attacks from the mountainous coastal areas.

Iran can control the Straits and nothing short of an extended "boots on the ground" invasion into the coastal areas around the Strait can stop it. Controlling the mountainous Northern region would prove costly if it could even be done successfully. Recent history, from Vietnam to Afghanistan, have continually resulted in futility.

By international law...no.

Not in areas that drastically affect commerce.

But since when does Iran care about law.

They jus need to cut a canal through the was side of the strait.

And still bomb Iran into oblivion.

Couldn't find it. I'm always skeptical when they break up quotes like that
It's several articles down. It's two small paragraphs.

Don't waste your time though....it's meaningless. You never know what was said around it and it's all only intended to replace the porn the left uses when they abuse themselves.

The mountainous topography wouldn't allow a canal.

1. The rest of the world isn't about to allow it.

They could do it.

I didn't say it would be easy. I am sure they have thought of it before.

Now might be the time.

It would be less expensive to just blow Iran to hell.
They could run a pipeline across the peninsula. Shuttle tankers could unload on the west side into holding tanks. Tankers could approach from the east side without going through the strait and fill up.

Too funny.

He's already playing games with his "complete victory".

Gawd, he's a clown.
Clearly you have no concept of investment.

You obviously didn't go to college (if you did, ask for your money back).

You don't lift weights.

And you don't save money.

Nobody as short sighted and with such a high opinion of themselves could be anything more than the white trash you are.
