While Kyzr takes time to answer, I question your experience as well.
All it takes is elementary knowledge taught in High School Economics to show that tariffs throughout history have enriched America.
When imported goods cost less than a U.S. made product cannot compete then America losses.
Foreign countries have taken advantage of destroying American manufacture by exporting to America products like steel that are cheaper due to the country's use of slavery for cheap labor.
A good example is China...

I also know that 12,000 US factories and millions of jobs were shipped overseas, many to China

I'm not seeing any economic time bombs for Trump like we had for Biden (the eventual collapse of the dollar)
Trump is balancing the budget, he cut $1.5T off Biden's last budget, and he is raising $500b in new revenue

The CBO had to revise their projection to show tariffs are helping to balance the budget.
DOGE has $205b a year in savings if congress acts
The CBO's 1.8% GDP estimate appears low
